Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers have about a day to claim the beloved 2016 first-person shooter game Titanfall 2 for free. To celebrate the holiday season, EA has been giving away free games to EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. While these games are already available to play through these subscriptions, by claiming the freebies, fans retain access to them indefinitely, even if their subscriptions to either service happen to lapse.
The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate EA game giveaways started with Battlefield 1 and continued with Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2. Instead of simply giving away the base versions of these games, EA and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate have been giving players access to special editions, which come with bonus content to sweeten the pot even further.

Xbox Game Pass already has five games confirmed for its January 2025 line-up, but it could use a few more to kick off the year with a bang.
The same holds true for Titanfall 2, the latest game being given away for free to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. Titanfall 2: Ultimate Edition (which is also on sale for a mere $2.99 right now as part of Xbox’s holiday deals for those that aren’t signed up for Game Pass Ultimate) is free to claim for a limited time. The Ultimate Edition of the game comes with the Underground R-201 Carbine, the Jump Start Content, and the Deluxe Edition content. The Titanfall 2 Jump Start Content unlocks all titans and Pilot Tacticals immediately, and also givers players 500 tokens and 10 2x XP tokens. The Deluxe Edition content, meanwhile, includes two first Prime Titan variants, the Excalibur Chrome Warpaints, Thunderbird Nose Arts, and the Splinter Ocean and Quantum Ocean Camos. So, even if one is already playing Titanfall 2 through their Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, it’s still worth navigating to it in the store and claiming the Ultimate Edition for free to get all these goodies.
Titanfall 2 is Free for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Subscribers for a Limited Time
For those that have yet to play Titanfall 2, it’s one of the most critically-acclaimed games of 2016 and is generally considered one of the best FPS games of the past decade. While it didn’t seem to blow up in sales, Titanfall 2‘s single-player campaign is incredible, and though it may not be nearly as populated as it once was, multiplayer matches are a blast as well. If one already has an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, they really should make sure to claim it while it’s free.
With Christmas now nearly upon us, it will be interesting to see if the EA game giveaways continue or if they go away until next year. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers should keep an eye out just in case.
