No matter how many thrilling Duelists there are in Marvel Rivals’ base roster and how many players seem disinterested in queuing as a Strategist, the ‘healer’ role is becoming increasingly popular and already boasts quite a few dynamic options. Between Adam Warlock, Cloak and Dagger, Jeff the Land Shark, Loki, Luna Snow, Mantis, and Rocket Raccoon, there is probably a healer who will lean more toward a player’s preferred playstyle than another and can be deferred to if the lobby is oversaturated with DPS characters.
More Strategists are sure to arrive in Marvel Rivals sooner than later, too, and what they bring to the table will need to be fairly special. What that will likely come down to, though, is how special or dynamic the particular character is. Likewise, Marvel Rivals has a lot of hard-cut villain characters to catch up on in the roster with only Hela, Loki, and Magneto. More Spider-Man villains would surely be a treat, and with many of them being starkly different from one another it’s easy to see how they could acclimate to different roles. Kraven the Hunter, for example, could be made as robust as ever as a Strategist.

Marvel Rivals’ Star-Lord Doesn’t Need It, But Could Flourish with a Neat Team-Up Ability
Marvel Rivals’ Star-Lord is already a fairly strong character, and yet, like others, he’s arguably underutilized when it comes to Team-Ups.
Marvel Rivals Missed the Kraven Hype Train But Could Board at the Next Station
Sony’s Kraven the Hunter came and went without so much as a shred of the same hysterical memes and overblown, ironic excitement derived from Morbius. It’s possible that Madame Web was the last straw, even given the fact that Venom: The Last Dance was released recently, but anyone fatigued by these Spider-Man villain spin-off movies will be pleased to hear that they’ve concluded with Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s portrayal of Sergei Kravinoff.
Like its sister movies, Kraven the Hunter takes wild liberties with its origin stories and character depictions in general and isn’t truly a decent representation of the antagonist as they’re penned in comic book source material. That said, Kraven has the potential to be one of the more intriguing Spider-Man villains, as seen in Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s Kraven the Hunter arguably relies a little heavily on his armed militia group of hunters, and yet the character himself is captivating enough with a fun boss fight before the game’s third act spirals into a spontaneous symbiote invasion. Nonetheless, the bar is relatively low for recent adaptations of the character that are superb, and Marvel Rivals might be the greatest outlet to express each of his unique tactics and strengths as one of the most enticing Strategists on the roster.
How Kraven the Hunter Could Look as a Marvel Rivals Strategist
As a Marvel Rivals Strategist, Kraven the Hunter could live up to his name. If he ever made his way to the 6v6 hero shooter, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him make use of animal-themed traps and snares lying around, similar to Peni Parker’s webs and drones.
Doubling up on traps could make a Peni and Kraven pair nightmarish for opponents on a control point, but since Peni is a Vanguard it would be neat to see a Strategist with the same functionality. Because Strategists are colloquially referred to as healers, Kraven could then have potions he imbues himself and others with for heals or other related enhancements, potentially in a similar vein as Venom’s clutch Symbiotic Resilience ability that gives him a big block of bonus health in a pinch.
Lastly, it would be fantastic to see the iconic “Kraven’s Last Hunt” comic book storyline adapted as a Team-Up between Kraven and Spider-Man that could possibly feature a respawn bonus for both characters or a base bonus health for each character. Kraven could easily fit into a Vanguard or Duelist role, but as a Strategist Marvel Rivals would be able to milk him for all he’s worth—every character thus far has been fleshed out wonderfully in their kits, and Kraven would need to be no different if he ever arrives in the future.
