Marval Villains We Want To See Added To Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals took the hero shooter genre by storm by giving players lots of characters to master from the start, as well as unique mechanics and fresh elements that set it apart from competitors like Overwatch. With 33 characters to choose from at launch, you may have noticed there aren’t many villains to pick in Marvel Rivals just yet.

These Marvel Rivals healers have similarities to those in Overwatch.

Luckily for the developers at NetEase, Marvel has lots of villains to choose from with very particular abilities and powers that could shine like never before in a hero shooter. And like some of the villains already in the game, they have different versions across the multiverse that could justify additional skins and interesting dialogues with other characters.

We’re not including already leaked characters or those that are too similar to others already on the roster, like Carnage or Maestro, although it could be cool to see them in action.

Hit-Monkey

Hit-Monkey debuted his own comic book in 2010 and was featured in a Deadpool/Spider-Man team-up full of humor and action the same year. As you might have guessed, it’s a monkey that trained his abilities, and after his origin story involving a hitman and his tribe of macaques, he goes around killing other assassins in revenge.

Marvel Rivals already features a couple of animals as heroes, so Hit-Monkey would fit right in. He usually wields two pistols as his main weapon, although he’s very resourceful and could get some additional abilities in the game.

M.O.D.O.K.

MODOK in Marvel Rivals.

Leaving the MCU version of the character aside, MODOK could be a great addition to Marvel Rivals’ roster. His name literally means Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing, so it could be another perfect fit for the hero shooter.

Taking some inspiration from the comics, MODOK could have a kit full of powerful gadgets and weapons coming out of his exoskeleton, with many creative ways to eliminate opponents. What’s more, his Ultimate ability could be some kind of self-destruction that blows everything away.

Blackheart

  • Possible role: Vanguard or Strategist

Blackheart was part of the Marvel vs Capcom 2 roster, so gaming fans already know the character a little bit. The character is a demon created by Mephisto himself by gathering nothing but evil and has many powers related to magic and dark forces.

9 Heroes We Would Love To See In Marvel Rivals

With an incredible roster, Marvel Rivals has nearly every character any fan could ask for, however there are still some we would love to see added in.

In terms of gameplay, Blackheart could be similar to Dr. Strange since it can create portals and shoot all kinds of magic projectiles. It also has healing abilities that could come in handy in Marvel Rivals.

Mystique

  • Possible role: Duelist or Strategist

The number one mutant shapeshifter is an icon in the X-Men franchise and could play an interesting role in Marvel Rivals. While Loki’s Ultimate borrows the appearance and powers of his enemies, Mystique’s abilities could use her powers to confuse enemies and infiltrate enemy lines without them noticing.

Mystique is also a great fighter except when she’s played by Jennifer Lawrence, so she could be added to the roster as an interesting Duelist with many different tactical abilities to give her team the upper hand.

Super-Skrull

Super-Skrull in Marvel Rivals.
  • Possible role: Vanguard or Duelist

The Skrulls are also shapeshifters, but Super-Skrull is so much more. Introduced as an enemy of the Fantastic Four, it possesses all of their powers, making it a real threat in combat. It could be a Vanguard character in Marvel Rivals, taking a lot of damage and giving it back tenfold.

The Super-Skrull can also control minds just by looking at their victims, and that obscure ability could also play a role in its kit. Most important, though, it looks really cool.

Taskmaster

Taskmaster in Marvel Rivals.
  • Possible role: Duelist or Vaguard

While not entirely a villain but a mercenary who doesn’t care about sides, Taskmaster could bring a lot to the table. Gameplay-wise, it could be an interesting combination of characters like Captain America, The Punisher, and the Winter Soldier, using guns, swords, and a shield to hit enemies at will.

However, Taskmaster’s most important skill is the ability to copy his enemies’ movements in a heartbeat. This helps him master many techniques in no time but also know exactly what his opponents will try to do.

Kang

Kang the Conqueror's Immortus in Marvel Rivals.
  • Possible role: Duelist or Vanguard

Kang the Conqueror, or his many identities, like Immortus or Iron Lad, could be a great addition to Marvel Rivals. With his time-traveling technology, Kang could change his position on the battlefield or even move other units at will. He’s always seen using technology from the future, so that could be added to his kit for maximum damage output.

One of his incarnations, the Pharaoh Rama Tut, could even prevent superheroes from using their powers, which could be a really cool ability in the hero shooter.

The Sinister Six

  • Possible role: Duelist or Vanguard

We’re going to cheat a bit with this entry because Spider-Man has the coolest villains gallery and many of his enemies deserve a spot in Marvel Rivals. The original Sinister Six were Doctor Octopus, Electro, Kraven the Hunter, Sandman, Mysterio, and Vulture, although characters like Hobgoblin, Chameleon, and Black Cat were also part of the team at some point.

All these colorful characters have been in Spider-Man games as well, so they have a lot of potential in Marvel Rivals fulfilling different roles.

Lady Deathstrike

Lady Deathstrike in Marvel Rivals.

Often considered the female counterpart of Wolverine, Lady Deathstrike is a very interesting character with a tortured mind. She’s half-cyborg, wither her fingers replaced with retractable Adamantium claws that make her extremely deadly. She can extend her claws to cover more distance, making her a real threat at short range.

And while Wolverine is almost a tank in Marvel Rivals, Lady Deathstrike could be a more agile character that takes enemies by surprise before running away to safety. However, her abilities could overlap with Elektra’s, who is way more popular.

Yellowjacket

Yellowjacket in Marvel Rivals.
  • Possible role: Vanguard or Duelist

Ant-Man might be a tough character to tackle gameplay-wise. It’s hard to have a hero that can change its size at will in the middle of the battle, but it can be worth a try if well balanced. The Yellowjacket identity of Hank Pym represents one of Marvel’s darkest storylines ever, and it could be nice to see that in a popular shooter game in the 21st century.

What’s more, it could trigger a Team-Up or at least interesting dialogue with Ultron, one of the many leaked characters coming to Marvel Rivals.
