After a certain point, you won’t be able to craft mid-to-late game clothing without essences. Essences can only be acquired through upgrading your Insight for Fishing, Collecting, Animal Grooming, and Bug Catching. Leveling up your Fishing will also unlock new Rare Pieces sketches and even a skin for the fishing rod itself.
Fishing Insight Overview
Your main ability tools, such as your fishing rod and your bug net, rack up Insight points upon use. The bug or fish you are harvesting resources from may have different levels of Insight points depending on the type of creature it is.
Collecting a lot of Insight points for these abilities is crucial for progressing in Infinity Nikki. With a lot of Insight points for Fishing, you can unlock the ability to harvest higher-level resources. You will start to get clothing Sketches that will require these high-tier resources.
Insight points are spent at the Heart of Infinity skill tree, where you unlock ability outfits. The Fishing, Bug-catching, and Animal Grooming outfits have separate skill trees where you can unlock new Sketches and resources.
Leveling up your Fishing ability in the Heart of Infinity will unlock the ability to collect Essence from fish, Sketches for earrings and a hair tie, and a fishing rod recolor.
You can see how much Insight you have for each ability by opening the Heart of Infinity and selecting an upgrade under one of the abilities.
When selecting an upgrade, the amount of Insight you have will be displayed next to your currency on the top right of the screen. It will also show in the description of the upgrade how much Insight you currently have and how much you are behind.
The Best Fish To Catch For Insight
The amount of Fishing Insight needed to unlock the ability to get Essence from fish is 1,000 Fishing Insight. Different fish will give you different amounts of Insight upon catching them. When grinding for Insight points, you will want to focus on fishing for the ones that provide the most Insight.
Each time you throw your rod into the water, you do not know which fish you are going to get. The fish you get are randomized based on which fish should be in that region.
Using the map tracker to find fish locations will guarantee that at least one of the random fish in a fishing spot is the type you are looking for. You can use this map feature to track fish that give the most Fishing Insight upon catching them.
To use the map tracker, open the map and select the book icon on the bottom left. This will open the Collections menu, where you can select what resources you want to track.
Another way to rack up a lot of Fishing Insight is by using the Realm of Nourishment at a Warp Spire.
