Summary
- Final Fantasy 14 latest raid has already been beaten.
- Clouds of Darkness (Chaotic) has only been out for a few hours, and we already have footage of a team managing to beat it.
- Unlike other raids, this one is taken on in teams of 24 players at a time.
Final Fantasy 14‘s first-ever “Chaotic” raid just went live today, giving players a challenge that has to be taken on in teams of 24. This is a huge increase on usual raids, which see you team up with seven other players, and means you’re relying on a bunch of other people to perform well in their roles.
If that sounds like a nightmare, it’s because it is. We’re already seeing players complain about being dragged down by those who aren’t playing well, so it seems that everyone has to be at the top of their game to beat Clouds of Darkness (Chaotic). And yet, some have already pulled this off.
Clouds of Darkness (Chaotic) Has Been Beaten Just Hours After Release
Final Fantasy 14 players don’t back down from a challenge – even when that challenge involves teaming up with 23 other fans
Twitter user Jaydenz Omega has shared that her team was able to beat the raid already. Footage of the run was then uploaded to YouTube by user Eksu Plosion too, so we can see it in action. This is among the first completed runs of the raid – if not the first completed run unless another squad managed to get in there first.
We’ll have to wait and see how the rest of the playerbase gets on, but right now, the word on social media is that it’s very very difficult. At the very least, it’ll keep you busy over the holidays if you have some spare time – and don’t find the idea of coordinating a raid with 23 other players overly stressful.
Right now, Cloud of Darkness is the only Chaotic raid available in the game. However, as per the announcement of these raids back in September, more will be added if players take a shine to them. So it’s very possible we’ll be getting more 24-person raids in the future.
