Infinity Nikki is centered around collecting outfits: some help Nikki defeat other stylists in contests, complete her compendium, or simply take great photos. Others grant her special powers that assist with material collection for use in other outfits, exploration, and combat: these are called Ability Outfits. Players are given one to start with and can unlock the rest via tutorials and progressing the main story. These outfits are all critical to exploring Miraland, but some are more useful often than others.

Later on in the game, players can craft duplicates of these outfits to evolve them, which does not change their stats or the function of the ability but does unlock a new color scheme. In addition to these base outfits ranked here, it is possible to pull additional Ability Outfits in banners (such as Breezy Tea Time, a cat-cafe style Animal Grooming outfit). These also do not change the function of Nikki’s abilities, but they may have better stats for styling contests and improved aesthetics.

Players mostly agree that the electrician ability outfit is just not as aesthetically pleasing as the other outfits, and that makes sense: the color scheme is bright and difficult to match, the jumpsuit itself isn’t super detailed, and the accessories aren’t adding a lot of complexity either. It is, of course, very practical for doing some light manual labor, but falls a little short for a game based on dressing up.

Plus, this outfit is used pretty rarely: players will only need to break out the steel-toed boots during one main story quest. However, players can fix streetlights in Florawish for a pretty substantial diamond payout and the puzzle mini-game is fun to use.

Rippling Serenity

Fishing For Compliments

The fishing outfit does have some great details: the fish t-shirt, the blue armbands, the backpack, and the denim jacket are all cute pieces on their own. As a whole, though, the cream and light blue color palette kind of blends together. It is perfectly charming, but when compared to some of the other ability outfits, it is just missing that extra bit of detail. Other color schemes players can unlock via evolution improve the contrast of colors, though.

Fishing also takes much longer than other material collection abilities and can get repetitive (and there are so many different kinds to catch). However, the fishing mechanics are fun, plus the animation and dialog between Nikki and Momo, while she is fishing, are super cute. This outfit also has the highest “cool” score of the Ability Outfits, which is helpful since cool clothing is difficult to come by in the early game.

Bye-Bye Dust

Can I Wash That Dog?

This adorable outfit allows Nikki to collect animal materials from various creatures across Miraland. There are unique animations for each species and even a few rare animals with their own dedicated side quests for players to discover. Animal grooming can get a bit repetitive after a while, but these short cutscenes are fully skippable. Plus, many animals travel in groups, so players can rack up animal materials fairly quickly.

This outfit does have one of the lowest base styling scores of the Ability Outfits. There are plenty of other pieces with a high sweet score available, however, so this isn’t too much of an issue. While the outfit is cute as a whole, the individual pieces are a bit difficult to incorporate into other outfits: the overshirt is made of a towel-like material; perfect for bathing a Floof but not ideal for the runway.

Afternoon Shine

Creepy Crawly Couture

• Simple bug-catching mechanics

Players familiar with games like Animal Crossing will be pro-bug-catchers in no time with this Ability Outfit. Bug catching may be super simple, but this outfit isn’t: the accessories are adorable (peep the little yellow bows on the socks) but it still feels like practical outdoor gear for chasing down Balletflies on the grassy outskirts of Florawish.

This is one of the many sweet outfits available, which means players will likely find more powerful pieces for styling contests fairly quickly, and the greenish-blonde of the pigtails is a little difficult to pair with other pieces. Still, this outfit is a total breath of fresh air.

Symphony of Strings

Calming Tunes

This outfit allows Nikki to play the violin. This calms various nervous, frightened, and worried NPCs in the later parts of the main story. Other than these instances, this skill does not have practical use, but players can still access the violin mechanics to play their own tunes or recreate existing songs in the game.

The styling score is particularly low, but there are enough other sweet clothing items in Infinity Nikki that Calming Tunes would never need to see a styling contest. Still, the outfit has one of the more unique designs in this category, pulling from both the shape of a violin and Victorian fashion.

Wind of Purity

Blown Away

This Ability Outfit lets Nikki beat back Esselings, little clothing-themed hostile beings that can deplete her health. She can shoot bursts of green air that, for most Esselings, take them out with one hit. For any players nervous about combat, it is very easy and made even easier via Whim Fragrances that unlock more advanced combat abilities. This does mean that combat is never really challenging, even in the bigger boss fights later in the game.

The outfit itself is beautiful, though, like most of the Ability Outfits, its styling score is just okay. Players will likely easily incorporate pieces from Wind of Purity into their own outfits, though, given its simple and elegant color scheme and great details.

Floral Memory

Petal To The Metal

Floral Memory is unlocked a bit later in the main story, once players begin exploring the Stonewoods. This outfit allows Nikki to glide across the landscape of Miraland. Think of the glider in Breath of the Wild, but instead of fabric on a wooden frame, Nikki flies on a giant bubble flower. Lots of areas in the Stonewoods are only accessible via gliding, so this outfit is very useful.

This outfit is also helpful in styling contests, as fresh-style outfits are not super common in the early game. Though the score isn’t crazy high, it can get players through some of the Stonewoods contests and perhaps some early fresh stylists in the Wishing Woods. The shooting star print of the skirt is really beautiful and the accessories are simple but effective: a great addition to any fantasy closet.

Starlet Burst

Small But Mighty

This outfit is acquired once players reach the Wishing Woods. Starlet Burst allows Nikki to shrink down and sit on Momo’s head: this lets her enter areas unreachable at her regular size. Momo can also climb special ropes and be shot from confetti cannons to reach even more new areas, materials, and Blings. This allows for some of the most fun gameplay in Infinity Nikki, such as the challenging platforming level in Timi’s beauty lab. It is also just super fun to have serious conversations from the top of Momo’s head.

This outfit is one of many sweet style options players have available to them, so it might not fill any gaps in Nikki’s wardrobe stats-wise, but the design is uniquely detailed and fun. The beret is shaped like a star, the pigtails have a cute purple-to-pink gradient, and the color scheme is really cohesive: what else is there to ask for?

Bubbly Voyage

Bubbly Voyage is the first ability outfit available to players and allows for floating and double jumping. It is some of the first new clothing Nikki gets and is often incorporated into players’ early game outfits because the pieces mesh so well with other outfits in the game. Players will also use the float ability the most throughout the game: there are mini-games, hidden materials, and main story platform levels that rely on being a pro at floating.

Plus, the animation for this particular floating outfit is very satisfying and there is no fall damage. That’s right: players can feel free to fling Nikki off as many high ledges, castle turrets, or cliffs as they want. As long as it isn’t a water landing (poor Nikki has many abilities, but swimming isn’t one of them) she will be fine.
