Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s Mythical Island mini-set has introduced a handful of seriously powerful deck builds, but the Mew ex deck is unlike the rest – it has incredible malleability, meaning there are umpteen reasonably viable ways to build it.

Here’s how to build the Celebi ex/Serperior deck in Pokemon TCG Pocket!
We’ve narrowed things down to the most prominent setup, which aims to ruin your opponent over time with poison damage via Weezing while you build up your Mew ex – and your opponent, meanwhile, potentially builds up their own powerful attack, which Mew ex will tap into in order to win you the game.

In this version, Mew ex is joined by Weezing, which whittles the enemy down via the 30-damage, one-Energy, Tackle and (more importantly) the Gas Leak ability, which inflicts Poison.
As you build up your Mew ex, your Weezing(s) will perform the triple task of stalling, poisoning for chip damage, and forcing your opponent to shuffle around their active Pokemon to prevent them from falling victim to the Poison ailment.
Weezing can quickly return to your hand thanks to the Koga Supporter card, which links up nicely with Mew ex’s Budding Expeditioner Supporter that does the same. In this fashion, the Mew ex/Weezing deck contains remarkably few Pokemon, but both are quite “bouncy”.
Further Mew ex Ideas
While the above idea is built around Mew ex, bear in mind that Mew ex can also be added to many decks in a more supportive fashion. Its three Colorless Energy cost lets it slide into decks of any type with minimal friction.
This doesn’t necessarily make Mew ex ideal for every situation. Far from it; more focused decks that need to do one thing very well – which is to say, many of them – would get sidetracked.
Even so, any deck that can afford some flexibility, and has room to shake things up a bit, can benefit from Mew ex‘s impeccable job at rewarding the fiercest enemies with a taste of their own medicine.
Mew ex works well in Mewtwo ex decks, too. Get rid of Koffing, Weezing, and Druddigon; slot one in alongside the usual Mewtwo ex setup, which includes two of those plus the Ralts line for Gardevoir’s ability to charge up Mewtwo’s Psydrive.
