A Genshin Impact chart ranks the game’s five-star characters by the number of updates they have missed so far. Genshin Impact has a tight update schedule, with a new version of the game arriving approximately every 42 days. This schedule allows HoYoverse to keep the game fresh by constantly introducing new content.
Each update in the game is divided into two banner cycles, featuring two five-star and three four-star characters. The recently held Special Program event confirmed two new roster additions for the next update: Mavuika and Citlali. As the playable roster expands with every new update, many Genshin Impact characters often go months without appearing on the Limited Character banner.

An interesting Genshin Impact chart reveals the estimated number of free Primogems that should be available in the upcoming Version 5.3.
A Reddit user named RapidFresh has shared an interesting chart that lists playable characters and the number of consecutive updates they have missed. At the top of the list with 13 skipped updates is the Hydro catalyst user Sangonomiya Kokomi, who was released at the start of the Inazuma arc. Even though Kokomi was initially considered one of the most underwhelming releases, she became almost a must-have character a year later when HoYoverse introduced the Dendro element and its new reactions. Kokomi’s powerful Hydro application potential makes her an S-tier pick for team compositions that revolve around Genshin Impact‘s Bloom reaction.
Genshin Impact 5.3: Five-star Waiting List Revealed
Second place on the list is shared by Wriothesley and Venti, who have missed 11 updates in a row. Fontaine’s Cryo user Wriothesley has yet to receive his first rerun after being released in Version 4.1. Fans have been asking HoYoverse for a Wriothesley rerun for months, especially since many players skipped his banner due to it coinciding with the release of the Hydro Dragon Neuvillette, who is widely regarded as one of the most powerful DPS units in Genshin Impact.
Venti will likely appear on a banner in the upcoming months, as HoYoverse seems to feature Archons regularly in updates following the release of new major regions. Despite being one of the first characters released in 2020, Venti remains a viable choice for Genshin Impact team compositions requiring neutral support.
The fourth place is occupied by Sumeru’s General Mahamatra, better known as Cyno. This five-star character is a fairly straightforward DPS unit whose place in the current meta has improved with significant buffs to certain elemental reactions in Genshin Impact. These buffs have improved three Electro-related reactions: Overload, Electro Charged, and Superconduct, all of which significantly impact Cyno’s performance on the field.
