Forza Horizon 4 Still In Stock At Walmart Despite Delisting

Forza Horizon 4 Still In Stock At Walmart Despite Delisting

Summary

  • Forza Horizon 4 was delisted from the Xbox Store and other major retailers on December 15, 2024.
  • Digital codes for the standard and ultimate editions are currently in stock at Walmart but won’t be for long.
  • Even though it has been delisted, the game, its DLC, and its online modes are all still playable.

Xbox and Playground Games announced over the summer that Forza Horizon 4 would be delisted before the end of 2024. If you’re only just learning about this and you don’t already own the game, it is no longer available through the Xbox Store and most major retailers. You might have one last chance to grab the game if you have seen this in time though as it has reappeared at Walmart.

A digital download code for Forza Horizon 4 is currently $59.88 at Walmart. Yes, that is a lot more than you’d have paid for the game had you picked it up before it was delisted on December 15, but that’s what happens when a game becomes as scarce as Forza Horizon 4 has now become. The Ultimate Edition, which includes Forza Horizon 4’s post-launch DLC, is also in stock at Walmart for $99.99.

The Ultimate Edition’s listing also mentions the early access period which is rather amusing considering what stage we’re at in the game’s life.

Even though Forza Horizon 4 has been delisted, most elements of the game remain intact. If you own a copy, or if you buy one at Walmart through the links in the box below, the game is still playable. That includes all of its online elements. You can also still re-download the game, or any of its DLC, if you have previously paid for it but deleted the game to make room for other stuff on your console or PC.

Forza Horizon 4 Is Still Available At Walmart

It Has Been Removed From Sale Due To Being Delisted Everywhere Else

Usually when games are removed from sale, most of us are left asking why studios would do such a thing when they could just be left available, even if they’re only making a little money every now and again. There is a real reason Xbox and Playground can’t do that with its older Forza games, though. Licensing deals for cars and music eventually expire, and by the time they do, it usually isn’t worth renewing them.

Forza Horizon 4 brings the open-world racing series to the United Kingdom. It features races, missions, and a roster of over 750 cars across the main game and its DLC.

In Forza Horizon 4’s case, it has since been supplanted as the most recent game in the series by Forza Horizon 5. Playground and Xbox will now be paying for licsening deals on the new game in the series with most of its player base moving from 4 to 5. Re-upping licensing deals for Forza Horizon 4 so it can keep selling the older game would be a waste of money. Forza Horizon 3 was delisted in 2020, and eventually, Forza Horizon 5 will suffer the same fate.
