If you’re building a Ligue 1 or Brazilian-themed team, you’re familiar with how integral Marquinhos has been for several years. As the undisputed best CB card in the league, Marquinhos remains an excellent choice despite receiving noticeable downgrades to his gold card this year.
Marquinhos remains a viable choice thanks to much-needed promo upgrades, starting with his Total Rush version. While his 81 Pace isn’t particularly great, his 90 Defending is bolstered by 90s in every underlying attribute, making Marquinhos one of the most reliable defenders at dispossessing the ball.

Rayan Cherki boasts the rare combination of a perfect weak foot and access to every Skill Move in FC 25, though this year’s card feels slightly less impressive than Cherki’s previous cards. While all of his attributes are solid, especially when using his UEL Road to the Knockouts version, his turning feels clunkier than you’d expect from 87 Agility.
Luckily, Cherki’s Passing and Dribbling attributes are still impressive enough to warrant use in a Ligue 1 side, but you may have to wait for him to receive further upgrades to reach the same levels of excellence that we’re used to seeing.

If you’re looking for an injection of speed and elusiveness on the wings, then very few options from Ligue 1 will match Bradley Barcola. While he’s not strictly expected to be the next Mbappe, he’s the closest you’ll get to a replacement if you’re solely interested in PSG and French links from your dynamic winger.

While his card’s price can be prohibitive to some, it’s worth every coin if you need someone to help shore up your midfield and prevent you from leaking goals.
Despite his already impressive card, none of Matuidi’s attributes are particularly high, so there’s a chance this card could be evolved in the future to make for an even more impressive CDM.

Abedi Pele is surprisingly one of the most affordable options on this list, but just because his price isn’t high doesn’t mean he can’t perform well on the pitch. 91 Pace and Dribbling are nothing to scoff at, plus the additional chemistry you receive from Hero cards makes him simple to fit into your Ligue 1 team.
While the power curve continues to ramp up, Abedi Pele is likely to receive a promo card, which should keep him relevant into the latter stages of the game cycle.
