Sly Trilogy Has Become The Highest-Rated Games On PlayStation

Sly 2 And 3 Are Coming To The PlayStation Plus Classics Catalogue

Summary

  • In case you missed it, the first three Sly Cooper games are officially on modern hardware via PlayStation Classics.
  • Following their release, the games have risen to become among the highest rated games on the PlayStation Store.
  • Sly Cooper fans took to Reddit to celebrate the achievement of one of PlayStation’s most iconic franchises.

Well, that didn’t take long.

After joining the growing list of PlayStation Classics beginning in June, the first three Sly Cooper games have risen to the top to become among the highest rated games on the PlayStation Store. What’s more, both Sly 2: Band of Thieves and Sly 3: Honour Among Thieves weren’t added until Dec. 10, or just 12 days ago.

These aren’t puff ratings, either, as thousands of gamers willingly took the time to rate the games individually.

Let’s Dance!

As first spotted in the Sly Cooper subreddit, each of the three games, which were originally released on the PlayStation 2, are sitting strong among the many qualified games that exist on the PSN Store.

Here’s how the ratings all shake out:

It stands to reason that these ratings will only grow stronger as more and more gamers get their hands on the latter two titles.

“As they should be — they’re certified classics for a reason,” one user wrote on Reddit. Indeed, the original Sly trilogy are among the most iconic games on PlayStation 2, and though Sly hasn’t had an escapade since 2013, he still holds a special place in the hearts of gamers.

“I am so happy to see this,” another user chimed in. “Even if nothing comes of it, I’m happy for everyone who got to relive this trilogy or experience it for the first time!”

Sadly, with Sanzaru Games, the team behind the last game, no longer independent, and Sucker Punch seemingly occupied with the recently announced Ghost of Yōtei, another Sly game feels like a pipe dream at best. Either way, just like the Jak and Daxter games before it, it’s a good thing for game preservation that these titles are on modern hardware.
