Fallout fans with a thirst for travel can find a special vault-themed drinking hole called The Cocktail Geeks, but the theming won’t be around forever. This geeky bar is currently serving up a Fallout-themed menu and has its walls, windows, and coasters adorned with Pip-Boy-style art, but Fallout fans will have to travel to Edinburgh, Scotland to experience it.

Finding something to drink has been essential to survival in Fallout‘s post-nuclear-apocalypse world since its beginning, as failing to find a water chip for Vault 13 meant an immediate game over. But the stakes aren’t nearly as high at this real-world drinking establishment, which focuses on the fun side of life in the wasteland.

Established as a permanent cocktail bar in Edinburgh, The Cocktail Geeks seeks to bring an immersive entertainment experience to its patrons, themed around some of its team’s favorite works of fiction. Currently, the bar is operating as Vault 131, decked out in the style of one of the more welcoming underground vaults from the Fallout franchise. Fallout fans who have made the trip, such as IndiaWaterfield on Reddit, seem pleased with the themed menu, which includes drinks based on in-game chems like Stimpacks and RadAway, as well as a variety of alcohol-infused varieties of Vault Cola, the bar’s take on the games popular Nuka-Cola brand.

Cocktail Bar in Scotland Features Fallout Theme

It’s not just the menu that has been attracting Fallout fans to Vault 131, as the bar’s staff serves patrons while dressed up in classic blue-and-yellow jumpsuits. The Cocktail Geeks’ decor has also been updated to include a menagerie of images based on the cutesy Vault-Boy and Vault-Girl imagery contained in the games’ Pip-Boy menus, as well as some opening cinematics and the vault-management game Fallout Shelter. The apocalyptic-yet-lighthearted imagery covers surfaces large and small, ranging from a giant wall mural containing the franchise’s “War never changes” slogan to its coasters, and there’s even a replica of a mini-nuke-slinging Fat Man from the Fallout games decorating one of its corners.

The Cocktail Geeks’ official website explains that the bar goes through three different transformations each year, with its theme, decor, and menu changing every four months. The Vault 131 theme was launched on November 11, 2024, so Fallout fans wanting to dive into its Nuka-Cola-inspired recipes should make preparations soon, as it will likely only be around until early March 2025. The wheelchair-accessible and dog-friendly bar is only open to those over the age of 18, who should be prepared to present valid identification. The Cocktail Geeks is open seven days a week, excluding some holidays, and bookings for up to eight guests apiece are available nearly every day through March 9, 2025.
