Sunkenland: Best Base Locations

There are plenty of locations in Sunkenland for players to build a base, and these are the best ones by far.

These new brick structures need to be unlocked by upgrading the research bench and then researching the right technology. So they won’t be available in the early game stage. These are a great new addition, as they mean that bases will be stronger, and be able to take more damage from NPC raids. Brick molds have been added, and can be purchased from traders.

Blueprints Randomly Refreshed

Making Traders More Useful

Sunkenland Blueprints Randomly Refreshed
  • Trader inventories now refresh, solving the issue of static blueprint availability.
  • Out-of-stock blueprints can be restocked, enabling players to purchase desired items.

One of the major gripes that long-term fans of Sunkenland have had, is that the blueprint inventory of traders is static. This means that finding a specific blueprint in stock is really just down to luck. Furthermore, if a player wants or needs more than the number of blueprints available, then no dice.

In the 0.6 update, this problem has now been solved. The blueprint inventory of traders will now randomly refresh. This means that out-of-stock blueprints will be restocked, so that players can buy as many as they want, if they are prepared to wait for refreshes.

High-Temperature Furnace Changes

Can Now Fire Brick Into Brick Stacks

Sunkenland High-Temperature Furnace Changes
  • A new recipe allows players to fire individual bricks into brick stacks.
  • Requires unlocking the technology to create brick stacks for crafting.

As mentioned above, the Sunkenland 0.6 update adds a new range of brick-built structures to the game. Therefore, a new method for making stacks of bricks needed to be added as well. This has been done by changing the way that a high-temperature furnace works.

Sunkenland: Tips To Defend Your Base

In Sunkenland, defending the player’s base should be their utmost priority to survive and thrive.

A new crafting recipe has been added to the specialized crafting station, to fire individual bricks into stacks of bricks, once the player has unlocked the technology. This means the player can feed individual bricks from a brick mold into the furnace, and turn them into stacks for crafting with.

Refinery POI Changes

Added A Basement

Sunkenland Refinery POI Changes
  • Refinery now includes a basement, offering additional loot opportunities.
  • Increased difficulty in accessing the POI early, requiring better diving gear.

The refinery is one of the large underwater POIs in Sukenland. It is a good location for looting resources, although it can be tricky to dive down to safely unless the player has upgraded their diving gear.

In the 0.6 update for Sunkenland, the refinery POI has been updated. It now has a basement beneath the structure, meaning more loot. However, this makes the POI even more difficult to exploit early on, and likely won’t be worth trying to access until later in the game.

3

Amusement Park Changes

Main Structures Now More Visible

Sunkenland Amusement Park Changes
  • Main structures in the amusement park POI are now more visible underwater.
  • Improves navigation, especially during poor visibility or nighttime.

One of the hardest challenges to overcome in Sunkenland, is locating structures and objects underwater. Visibility is often poor, especially at night when no sunlight is lighting up the sea bed. This is a worse problem for some large POIs that are in deep water, such as the amusement park.

This particular POI has been updated, to make the main structures more visible. They are still quite hard to make out, but before the 0.6 update, they were often impossible to find at night.

New Types Of Structures

Railings, Flowerbeds and Vases

Sunkenland New Types Of Structures
  • Added railings, vases, and flowerbeds to improve base defense and esthetics.
  • Flowerbed crafting requires tier 4 research tree unlocks and blueprint purchases.

Some new base structures have been added in the 0.6 update of Sunkenland. These come in the form of new railings, which will be great for helping to build a more defensible base, and also some planter options.

8 Resources To Gather First In Sunkenland

There are a few resources that new Sunkenland players will want to gather first.

The planter options are vases and flowerbeds. The vase will hold a single flower. The sem-circular flowerbed will be able to grow two flowers. And the circular and rectangular flowerbeds will be able to grow four flowers. The player will need to unlock the tier 4 research tree at the research table, and also purchase the flowerbed and vase blueprints from the furniture trader before they can craft these. There are a number of different types of flowers that have been added to the game, with a promise that more will follow in future updates. This extends the farming gameplay nicely.

Wind and Solar Power Return

Opening Up Power Options

Sunkenland Wind and Solar Power Return
  • Solar panels and wind generators now function independently, providing power options.
  • Larger bases may still require additional power sources for full sustainability.

Some time ago, the way that wind turbines and solar panels work in Sunkenland was changed, making them auxiliary base equipment. Meaning they simply contributed towards the power generation capability of the base.

In the Sunkenland 0.6 update, both solar panels and wind generators are now independent pieces of equipment, and can provide power individually. This makes power generation options more flexible, and in some cases, means the player won’t even need a fueled generator. Although larger bases will likely struggle to make enough wind and solar power to run in a fully sustainable fashion.
