Reddit user NathanRider recently proposed an exciting crossover between Marvel Rivals and Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 with two pieces of concept art. The first one envisions Peter Parker’s iconic Advanced Suit from Spider-Man 2 as an alternate skin for Spider-Man in Marvel Rivals. Although the base image comes from Spider-Man 2‘s box art, the suit is somewhat edited to resemble Marvel Rivals‘ vivid art style for a more convincing concept, and it interestingly includes Venom’s symbiote tendrils on the arm as well. Venom is also in Marvel Rivals, presenting an opportunity for unique interactions when the Insomniac Spider-Man suit is equipped.

Marvel Rivals and Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 Crossover Could Turn Out Fruitful for Both Games

NathanRider’s second concept art goes in the opposite direction by bringing Marvel Rivals‘ Spider-Man skin into Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 as an alternate suit for Peter Parker. A good example of this are the Spider-Verse suits for Miles Morales’ Spider-Man, which include the same art style and animation as the movies.

The beauty of this crossover is that it seems quite viable given the context of both games. Insomniac adds new suits to Spider-Man 2 as post-launch support, and Marvel Rivals is a live-service title, so it may eventually indulge in crossovers with other games to increase player interest. Therefore, a collaboration between Marvel Rivals and Spider-Man 2 is a prospect that sounds far from a pipe dream. Should Marvel Rivals add more Spider-People in the future, Miles Morales’ Spider-Man 2 suits could be folded into this crossover as well.
