Hoshimi Miyabi, the youngest Void Hunter in Zenless Zone Zero’s New Eridu, is easily one of the best DPS characters in the entire game, outshining everyone that came before her. Building Miyabi right and putting her in the right teams takes her already absurd potential into the stratosphere. Be you a new player or old, Miyabi will immediately improve any account.

Here’s how to build Tsukishiro Yanagi in Zenless Zone Zero!
Miyabi’s best teams don’t need to be all premium S-Ranks, nor do her builds need to be perfect, but here’s how to get the most out of Miyabi.
Best W-Engines For Miyabi
Building Miyabi is much simpler than her Skill descriptions would make it seem. She’s an Anomaly unit that plays a bit more like a traditional DPS, so her Disc Drives, W-Engines, and Skill priority will more closely follow that line of thinking over an Anomaly build.
The most important stat you can give Miyabi when building her is Crit. Rate, because her core skill scales off of that stat, specifically as it relates to the additional Frost Anomaly Buildup bonus she gets against opponents afflicted by her Icefire.
To start, then, here are Miyabi’s best W-Engines in order of their effectiveness:
W-Engine |
Rank |
Description |
---|---|---|
Hailstorm Shrine |
S-Rank |
Miyabi’s Signature W-Engine is by far her best, with a massive damage gap between it and the next best option. It also has the rare Crit. Rate main stat goes a long way toward meeting her Core Skill’s prerequisites. |
Fusion Compiler |
S-Rank |
Grace’s Signature is a solid choice for Miyabi if you don’t have Hailstorm Shrine, thanks to its flat ATK% bonus and Anomaly synergy. Neither it nor any of the remaining W-Engines offer any Crit. Rate, so your Drive Discs will need to do more heavy lifting there. |
Electro-Lip Gloss |
A-Rank |
Electro-Lip Gloss, available via the New Eridu Fund season pass, is a good low-spending W-Engine for Miyabi, as ATK% and flat damage bonuses it provides rely on enemies being afflicted with an Anomaly, and with Miyabi on the field, they always should be. |
Weeping Gemini |
A-Rank |
The best craftable and free-to-play friendly W-Engine available for Miyabi, Weeping Gemini offers a solid ATK% bonus and ups her Anomaly damage by a fair margin. |
Rainforest Gourmet |
A-Rank |
If you have nothing else, Rainforest Gourmet’s stacking ATK% buff per 10 Energy spent is a useable last-ditch choice for Miyabi, but you should try to get at least Weeping Gemini to replace it when you can. |
In short, if you can get it, Hailstorm Shrine is the only W-Engine you should consider for Miyabi. If you don’t plan to spend any money on Zenless Zone Zero and don’t have a large stack of Polychromes and Encrypted Master Tapes ready to roll, Fusion Compiler and Weeping Gemini are your best free-to-play options.

Best Drive Discs For Miyabi
Any player who saw Miyabi’s introduction cutscene during their playthrough of the story campaign shouldn’t be surprised that Miyabi has a Drive Disc made almost specifically for her.
When building Miyabi, you want to use four pieces of the Branch & Blade Song set. It provides a 16 percent bonus to Miyabi’s Crit Damage at two pieces. If her Anomaly Master is 115 or higher, her Crit. Damage increases by another 30% and any Freeze or Shatter effects applied in battle further increase her Crit Rate by 12 percent for 15 seconds.
For the two-set of Drive Discs, there you have a few good choices, but only two stand out as top-tier:
- Polar Metal offers a flat ten percent bonus to Miyabi’s Ice Damage, which applies to all of her attacks, whether they crit or not.
- Woodpecker Electro‘s two-piece buff is an eight percent bonus to Miyabi’s Crit Rate, which can help reach her core passive’s 80 percent breakpoint.
The stats you want on your Drive Discs are as follows:
- Piece 4 (bottom right): Crit Rate with ATK% and Crit. Damage substats.
- Piece 5 (middle-right): Ice Damage Bonus with Crit Rate and Crit Damage substats.
- Piece 6 (top-right): ATK% with Crit Rate and Crit Damage substats
You should focus first on getting Miyabi’s Crit. Rate as close to 80 percent as possible, then increase her ATK% and Crit. Damage values as high as you can. While not a focus point, if you can raise your Anomaly Proficiency to 115 or higher, you can take full advantage of the Branch & Blade Song Drive Disc effects.
Which Drive Discs you place where matters much less than the stats they confer, and so long as you have four Bridge & Blade Song and two of the other optimal sets, you’ll be fine.
Best Miyabi Teams
One of the best things about Miyabi is that, because she’s so absurdly powerful, she can carry almost any team composition you could think of, but there are a few requirements you need to meet if you want to get the most out of her kit.
First and foremost, part of her Core Skill requires that she have either another member of Section 6 or a Support Unit on the team. Thankfully, there are meta options that tick one or both of those boxes, the most obvious being Soukaku, who is both a member of Section 6 and a Support unit.
Other Support choices for a Miyabi team include Caesar as the best choice, Lucy or Seth for A-Ranks, or Rina for a standard S-Rank.
The third character you pick should somehow benefit both Miyabi and the Support, with other Anomaly agents fitting that bill best, like Yanagi as the top choice, Burnice as another, or Lycaon from the standard banner. Anby or Harumasa can work in a pinch, as well.

Miyabi’s best team pairs her not only with one of the previous DPS champions but also with one of the best and comfiest Defense units in Yanagi and Caesar.
This team setup has so much going for it, but the most important parts that don’t directly involve Miyabi are:
- Caesar’s Shield provides damage mitigation, anti-stagger, and an ATK% bonus. It’s easy to maintain (just use her EX Special once to get it up) and get back to DPS. You can even build Caesar for applying additional Daze, so she acts as a pseudo-Stun unit.
- Yanagi’s ability to activate Disorder outside the usual window is invaluable, as it grants Miyabi one stack of Fallen Frost, the meter that enhances her held Basic Attack. Miyabi is also one of the other best DPS units in the game that can provide and improve the already massive damage Anomaly units can output.
You can swap Yanagi for Burncie or even Grace and still have a perfectly fine, fun team.

Free-to-play players have plenty of options to use with Miyabi as well. Soukaku, you’ll get as part of progressing the Shiyu Defense mode, and Lucy is a more easily accessible A-Rank. She’s also available on Harumasa’s banner, should you decide to pull there as well.
You won’t be getting nearly the value out of either of these compositions as you would her premium team, but, again, Miyabi is so strong the differences aren’t stark enough at anything save the highest-difficulty and investment-focused content.
- Between the two, Lycaon is the much better Stun choice, as he can apply Ice resistance reduction to enemies, and his Stun application is much better than Anby’s. If you’ve not been fortunate enough to add Lycaon to your team, though, Anby is an acceptable surrogate.
- Lucy is probably a slightly better choice over Soukaku, as she needs much less on-field time to activate her buffs, but Soukaku’s ATK% buffs are still incredibly strong if you’ve yet to pull Lucy.
No matter which teams you use to play with Miyabi, there’s a 100 percent guarantee that you’ll not only shred your enemies but feel Motivated while doing so.
