Right Gear Train Hidden Gate Puzzle Sukhothai Indiana Jones and The Great Circle

Players will encounter the Khmer’s Hidden Gate puzzle during the main quest “The Blessed Pearl” in Indiana Jones and The Great Circle. Indy travels through the twisting and turning rivers of Sukhothai to find the Yeak, and comes across an ancient gate blocking the entrance to the Hidden Pyramid. So, players must activate individual components of the gate to open the pathway it hides.

Let’s check out how to solve the hidden gate puzzle so you can progress further into the story.

Find all the Cogwheels

First things first, you have to find three cogwheels scattered around the area. These are essential parts of the machinery that you’ll need to run the left and right gear trains in order to complete the puzzle.

The first two cogwheels can be found in the main area, right next to the left and right gear trains. For the third cogwheel, you’ll need to slide under the gap next to the left gear train mechanism to enter another room. Here, climb up the platforms until you reach the top and pick up the third cogwheel.

Start-Up the Main Mechanism

After picking up the third cogwheel, you’re all set to complete the Hidden Gate puzzle in Indiana Jones and The Great Circle now. However, you’ll see a chain that you can use your bullwhip on in front of you.

Whip Yank the chain to release the water onto the wooden wheel which will start the main mechanism. Now you can return to the main puzzle room and start activating the left and right gear trains.

Activate Both Left and Right Gear Trains

After you return to the main room, start inserting cogwheels in the Right Gear Train on the top right side. Once all three cogwheels are inserted, pull the lever to activate the mechanism.

Once you’re done with the right one, repeat the process with the Left Gear Train. Insert the cogwheels towards the middle left side of the gear train. Once all three are inserted, pull the lever to activate the Left Gear Train mechanism.

Complete the Khmer’s Hidden Gate Puzzle

After you’ve activated both Left and Right Gear Trains, the Hidden Gate puzzle will be complete. Now all that’s left for you to do is rotate the wheel/dial at the side of the room to trigger a cutscene where the pathway opens up to allow the boat to pass through.
