How to Get Paper in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete

How to Get Paper in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete

You’ll notice that paper is one of the crafting materials commonly used for furniture and clothing in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete. The best way to get this crafting material is by completing animal requests, but only certain species hand out paper as rewards. When you compare paper to Pocket Camp Complete‘s other crafting materials, you might notice that paper isn’t used in as much furniture crafting recipes as something like steel. Regardless, paper may be used for making special furniture, so you should start collecting this crafting material as soon as you can.

Which Animals Gift Paper?

There are several ways of getting paper in Pocket Camp Complete:

  1. Complete animal requests.
  2. Use paper treasure maps in Blathers’s Treasure Trek.
  3. Go to Shovelstrike Quarry.
  4. Obtain gifts from other Campers, your Camp Caretaker, or from the map screen.

Animal Requests

Whenever an animal appears on the map, you can speak to them and turn in quest items. Animals stay at their respective locations for 3 hours in real time. You can also use a Request Ticket if you want another round of requests. Depending on the type of animal, you’ll receive different crafting materials and essence. You can complete requests all at once without having to travel by using Pete’s Parcel Service.

If a paper-giving animal requests fruit or a bug, give them a perfect fruit or rare bug to double your reward. You’ll receive 1500 Bells instead of 100/500 as well as more crafting materials.

The animals that give paper in Pocket Camp Complete are:

  • Bear (ex: Curt, Teddy)
  • Rhino (ex: Merengue, Spike)
  • Sheep (ex: Muffy, Baabara)
  • Eagle (ex: Apollo, Celia)
  • Koala (ex: Eugene, Melba)
  • Octopus (ex: Octavian, Marina)

Some animals (such as Melba) have their own Treasure Map, meaning you’ll need to use Gulliver’s Ship to get their respective map, then use Blathers’s Treasure Trek to “explore” the map and reach the goal.

Treasure Maps (Blathers’s Treasure Trek

You may receive a treasure map from a random gift balloon or by completing animal requests. If the map is marked with a Paper icon, then you can open it and “roll”move along the map by paying 1000 Bells. Alternatively, you can clear the entire map, picking up every bag of paper along the way, by using Auto-Trek. Auto-Trek will cost Leaf Tokens to “roll”/move, but it’s the quickest way to clear the map. The end goal of a Paper Crafting Material Map is x20 Paper.

Shovelstrike Quarry

By asking for help and paying in Leaf Tokens, Shovelstrike Quarry can be accessed five times a day, but if you’re looking for paper, then you’ll want to go when there’s a paper crafting material icon on the quarry’s map icon. At Shovelstrike Quarry, you’re given five turns to break open rocks. Each rock contains a mineral (ruby, sapphire, gold nugget, silver nugget) that determines the amount of crafting materials and Bells you’ll receive at the end.

The cheapest way to get into the quarry is to register other players’ Camper Cards, then speak to their character at Whistle Pass. You need help from three villagers to enter Shovelstrike Quarry. You can ask for help up to twice a day. Once you’ve met the limit, you’ll need to pay with Leaf Tokens to enter the quarry for the remaining 24 hours.

You can register a Camper Card by selecting the Cards icon at the bottom of your screen. If you don’t know anyone offline or online to exchange QR Codes with, then you can add the 10 Camper Cards from Pocket Camp Complete‘s official website.

If you already asked for help twice at Whistle Pass but you still want to enter Shovelstrike Quarry, you’ll need to pay x20 Leaf Tokens. You can do this up to three times a day.

Gifts

Gifts are another way to get paper crafting material:

  • If you open your map, you may see a red or gold balloon. Tap them to receive crafting materials, Bells, and essence. Unfortunately, the earnings from these balloons are randomized, so it’s not a surefire way to obtain paper.
  • You can also get a daily gift from other villagers at Whistle Pass if you’ve registered Camper Cards.
  • Set an animal that gives paper (bear, eagle, sheep, rhino, koala, octopus) as your Camp Caretaker. Occasionally, you can collect rewards from your Camp Caretaker, who will always have their respective crafting material, essence, and Bells.
  • Speak to the animals at your Campsite and Cabin, and they may give you a gift with crafting materials.
