Pokemon GO has officially started its worldwide holiday event for 2024. Players will be able to enjoy catching winter Pokemon, but new Shiny variants have been introduced during this event, and players can also catch Pokemon wearing winter or holiday outfits during this event as well. This isn’t limited to Pokemon that are spawning in the wild either, but also in raid battles.

Holiday Event Part 1 Guide in Pokemon GO
The Pokemon GO holiday event runs from December 17 at 10 am local time until December 22 at 10 am local time. During the event, players will also receive double XP for catching Pokemon, which is perfect since a new Shiny variant of Sandygast has also been introduced during the event as well. This is the first time this Shiny has been in the game. Players will also have 1/2 hatch distance for eggs that are placed into an incubator during the event as well. - Dedenne wearing Holiday attire
- Shiny Sandygast
Three-Star Raid Encounters
- Stantler wearing a Holiday outfit
- Glaceon wearing a Undersea Holiday outfit
- Cryogonal
Mega Raids
New Timed Research
Players will be able to purchase new times research for the Part 1 holiday event for $2.00 USD, which also includes:
- Two Premium Battle Passes
- One incubator
- 1,500 Stardust
- Encounters with event-themed Pokemon
Wild Encounters
All of these Pokemon also have Shiny variants which players could catch during the event.
7km Egg Hatches
- Hisuian Growlithe
- Pichu with summer flair
- Spheal wearing a Holiday scarf
- Cubchoo wearing a Holiday ribbon
- Amaura
- Charcadet (Does not have a Shiny variant)
All but Charcadet have Shiny variants which players can catch during this event.
Pokemon Debuts
