A reliable source in the Genshin Impact community has revealed that Skirk will be a 5-Star Cryo character set for release in Version 5.7. While Natlan is still in the middle of its era with Version 5.3, the developers of Genshin Impact have teased the next six months of content in the latest livestream. Coupled with mentions of Nod-Krai and the Collective of Plenty, Genshin Impact also shared an image of seven upcoming characters, albeit their models were presented as black silhouettes.
Version 5.3 will add Mavuika, Citlali, and Lan Yan to Genshin Impact, and thus round out the first half of Natlan’s roster, but there is still plenty to look forward to. Version 5.4 will see the debut of a new Standard Banner character in Mizumi, an Anemo 5-Star from Inazuma. Iansan will join her as an Electro 4-Star from the Collective of Plenty. Version 5.5 will follow up with Varesa, the 5-Star character from Iansan’s tribe, who will also be accompanied by Ifa, the 4-Star from the Flower-Feather Clan.

Genshin Impact Teases Upcoming Characters for 2025
Genshin Impact reveals the lineup of playable characters that will be released in the first six months of 2025, including one major lore figure.
However, given her role in Genshin Impact‘s lore, it’s quite possible that Skirk will be the most exciting character in the latter half of Natlan. She is a disciple of Surtalogi and the master of Tartaglia, and was encountered by the Traveler and Neuvillette during the finale of Fontaine’s story. A leak shared by hxg_diluc via Full Stop Chan claims that Skirk will be a Cryo character with a release date set for Version 5.7. Assuming no delays, this would mean that Skirk would make her playable debut on June 18, 2025.
Genshin Impact: Who is Skirk?
- Name: Skirk
- Rarity: 5-Star
- Element: Cryo
- Weapon: Sword
- Model: Tall Female
- Release: Version 5.7
Described as a master swordswoman, Skirk spends most of her time exploring the Abyss. She taught Tartaglia to wield the Foul Legacy and took him under her wing when he fell into the Abyss. While her presence in the main story is limited, Skirk has revealed to the Traveler and Neuvillette that the Gnoses are the remains of the third Descender. Most players assumed that Skirk in Genshin Impact would become playable at some point, but very few expected that it would happen in Natlan.
It should be noted that Skirk wielding a Sword isn’t outright confirmed, but is still a healthy assumption to make, given her background. Though some players are undoubtedly disappointed that Skirk won’t introduce a new Element to Genshin Impact, Cryo certainly needs more modern characters, and there are many ways for Skirk to improve upon Cryo in turn. Though her release date may seem far away, it’s possible that Skirk will make another presence in Nod-Krai with Tartaglia, as Genshin Impact slowly sets the stage for Snezhnaya.
