All The Problems The PS5 & Xbox Series X Have Encountered (So Far)
The PS5 & Xbox Series X have their fair share of issues. These are the biggest problems issues the consoles have had so far.
Players will only have a maximum of 667 GB available to them and must buy a compatible NVMe SSD hard drive if they want more space. This isn’t possible for everyone, so it’s important to look at the biggest file sizes for PS5 games to see what players should prioritize.
Updated December 20, 2024, by Gerardo Molina: The storage space issue of modern gaming isn’t anything new. However, it’s something that keeps getting more and more concerning. As more advanced development tools and engines become available to studios, it’s possible to cram more content, polygons, and game mechanics into the various titles coming out. In most cases, this is a good thing; however, it also means that game file sizes will get larger and larger throughout the years.
Players who are not willing to spend a couple of hundred extra dollars on getting an external storage space for their PS5 will want to wisely choose which one of the following games they want to install.

February 18, 2022
Horizon Forbidden West is the much-awaited sequel to Aloy’s first adventure. Just like its predecessor, it came out around the worst time possible when another genre-defining game was making its debut.
Still, Forbidden West is a fun game to get into, even if the title itself isn’t all that innovative. It’s clear to see why this game requires close to 100 GB of free space on the PS5, with its amazing graphics and high-quality textures needing this much space to shine on the hardware.

Black Myth: Wukong
104 GB
Ever since it was first announced, Black Myth: Wukong took the gaming universe by storm, getting thousands of players excited about its release. When it finally hit the shelves, it didn’t disappoint in terms of narrative, game mechanics and overall graphics.
Giving players a Soulslike experience that, while challenging, isn’t as frustrating as that of the Dark Souls franchise, Black Myth: Wukong has managed to position itself as one of the best games released during 2024. Although its file size isn’t even close to taking it to the bottom of the list, 104 GB is still considerable.

105 GB
- Released
-
November 12, 2020
In Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Launch Edition, players will step into the shoes of Miles, Peter Parker’s young protégé. Miles is tasked with protecting New York in Peter’s absence, and throughout the story, players will see Miles’ growth as a superhero in many aspects.
When it comes to PS5 game sizes, this title doesn’t have enough to make it to the top of the list, especially when there are games over the 300 GB mark. That said, its whopping 105 GB still represents 15% of the console’s total usable storage capacity (667.2 GB), meaning that players can only install another five games of a similar size without a memory expansion solution, which is very inconvenient.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was an excellent game that players could enjoy quite a bit once they looked past its many bugs at launch. The sequel, Jedi: Survivor, ran poorly on PCs, but the console versions were relatively stable at the time of release.
The game takes up a lot of space but justifies this by showing just how much of a step up the title is from a visual standpoint. Jedi: Survivor‘s legacy may be tarnished because of a horrid PC port, but players invested in Cal Kestis’ journey will love the story’s continuation and its fun action set-pieces.
