- Xur’s exotic armor this weekend includes The Sixth Coyote, An Insurmountable Skullfort, and Astrocyte Verse.
Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. The holiday season is in full swing with The Dawning in Destiny 2, though it hasn’t always been a smooth ride, while players deal with various bugs and gameplay issues hampering the experience this year.
As rough as things have been for The Dawning and even at times during Episode Revenant, Bungie continues to plug away at the issues. While the developer solved a few major bugs thanks to the community’s help, the studio just released a new update for Destiny 2, finally squashing issues associated with tonics. The update also finally addressed the Sentinel Titan’s damage bonus, an unintended side effect that allowed players to hit much harder than expected.

Destiny 2 is Doubling Down on Revenant’s Biggest Sin At The Worst Possible Time
Destiny 2’s Episode Revenant saw multiple controversies spark since its debut, and Bungie is doubling down on the biggest one in the future.
For now though, the weekend merchant Xur is back with a new inventory of gear for Destiny 2 players. Follow this guide for his current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of December 20, 2024.
Where is Xur?
Xur has now taken up permanent residence in the Bazaar area inside The Tower, so there’s no more hunting when the weekend comes around.
Since the Bazaar is located between both fast travel points, players can pick either one to load into. Head into the area where Ikora and Hawthorne are and look for the Ramen Shop towards the back wall. While facing the shop, the alley is to the right, where Xur is standing.
Destiny 2 Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.
Xur’s Exotic Armor
Astrocyte Verse – Warlock helmet
Exotic Perk:
- Move To Survive – Blink further and more frequently, causing targets near you to become volatile. Weapon readies quickly out of Blink and radar remains up. While your Nova Warp Super is active, Dark Blink does not cost Super energy. Provides a moderate benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of all weapons.
This is a blink and movement heavy exotic, so this isn’t an item for everyone, especially those not using that jump technique.
Stat Values (64 Total):
- Mobility +7
- Resilience +14
- Recovery +13
- Discipline +14
- Intellect +2
- Strength +14
The Sixth Coyote – Hunter chest armor
Exotic Perk:
- Double Dodge – Gain a second dodge charge. Shortly after dodging, your next weapon final blow spawns an Orb of Power.
Nothing flashy or showy, the Sixth Coyote is just useful as it gives Hunters a second dodge, which can get them out of tough situations. It’s also a good exotic to generate orbs of power.
Stat Values (66 Total):
- Mobility +18
- Resilience +15
- Recovery +3
- Discipline +6
- Intellect +14
- Strength +10
An Insurmountable Skullfort – Titan helmet
Exotic Perk:
- Transfusion Matrix – Kills with Arc melee abilities trigger health regeneration and restore melee energy.
A great roll for Titans this week, with spikes for Resilience and higher than normal values for Recovery and Strength. While not the highest overall roll this week, this is a solid PvE exotic for triggering health regen and restoring melee energy.
Stat Values (65 total):
- Mobility +2
- Resilience +23
- Recovery +11
- Discipline +8
- Intellect +9
- Strength +12
