This season will premiere in January 2025 and continue with the exploration of Sung Jinwoo, the once a lowly E-rank hunter who was considered humanity’s weakest hunter, who is on his journey to becoming the strongest. As the second season rushes toward us, the story finds itself delving even further into Jinwoo’s journey, and fans can now expect even more breathtaking fights, character development, and world-building.

Studio and Production Team
The Minds And Voices Behind the Magic
Season 2 of Solo Leveling remains in the capable hands of A-1 Pictures, the studio responsible for Season 1 and acclaimed for high-quality animation with elaborate storytelling. The return of this studio will guarantee that the main core of the visual aesthetic from Season 1 remains intact, filled with fluid and dynamic action scenes, while its rich world-building remains immersive. Returning for the second season is Shunsuke Nakashige, who directed the first; his direction once again reaches the screen. He is joined by the talented Noboru Kimura, who has taken on script duties, in an attempt to keep the series both true to its source material and to further flesh out the lore.
Along with the talented team at A-1 Pictures, Solo Leveling Season 2 will continue with a striking soundtrack composed by Hiroyuki Sawano, whose music played a key role in elevating the atmosphere of Season 1. Fans can expect stirring tracks to accompany the intense scenes, further immersing them in the world of Solo Leveling. The fact that all these A-listers are still behind the scenes is a reassurance for fans that the next season will be as good as the first one.
The System Uses Me, and I Use the System.
A lot of voice actors are back for Season 2 of Solo Leveling. Back for the Japanese version, Sung Jinwoo will be voiced by Taito Ban, who provides the character with his cool and determined voice that has garnered fans noting his dynamic voice work in roles such as Frieren and The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten. Aleks Le returns playing Jinwoo once again, giving fans of the English dub a heavy voice filled with determination and strength. The show will also return other key cast members—Reina Ueda as Cha Hae-in, who will once again voice her character—to help the weight of emotion in the series move forward into the new season.
As Shown In The ReAwakening Movie
Just this month, a compilation movie was also released in the theaters titled Solo Leveling: ReAwakening; the film recaps the first season and includes the first two episodes of Season 2, offering fans an early glance into the new season’s content. As Sung Jinwoo’s abilities keep evolving, he is propelled into increasingly dangerous situations in the season to come. A significant event unfolds when Jinwoo accompanies his sister, Jinah, to a parent-teacher meeting, where he is asked to counsel Han Song Yi, an E-Rank Hunter and Jinah’s friend, about the dangers of pursuing a Hunter’s path. Rather, Jinwoo gets Ahn Sangmin of the White Tiger Guild to help arrange observation of a C-rank raid so they can observe it.
I Will Protect My Family Even If It Means Turning All The Hunters In The World Against Me.
This raid almost turns out to be something else, as the Gate suddenly changes and transports the group to a treacherous, isolated dimension with dangerous enemies such as ice elves and giant ice bears. Refusing to cower in this dire situation, Jinwoo’s ability to lead and fight his way through the dungeon is now pivotal to their survival. His growth since last season is amazing, and he protects Han Song Yi and B-Rank Mage Park Heejin from immediate threats. That Red Gate incurs such hardships is a sign of Jinwoo’s rising power and tactfulness, the levels of which will continue to grow, and the characters will get more developed. Judging by just two episodes, we can expect the new season to be so much better than the first one (which was already incredible to begin with). Winter 2025, especially the month of January, is packed full of incredible releases, and it will only get better from this point onwards.
