This tiny new mini gaming PC packs a surprisingly powerful AMD Radeon GPU

CES 2025 is quickly approaching and Geekom is not letting a few weeks stand between it and announcing its latest wares. The mini gaming PC maker will be bringing a trio of new machines to the table, and its new AMD Ryzen machine looks like a fantastic budget gaming option, with a surprisingly powerful GPU.

The best gaming mini PC designs have sort of followed the best handhelds, in that AMD reigns supreme in the space. While Intel’s offerings haven’t been a total disaster, AMD’s integrated graphics have been game changers, with the integrated Radeon 780M GPU proving its worth in our recent Geekom AX8 Pro review.

The new Geekmon A9 Max will be fitted with the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 375, which Geekom says will take “your experiences… to the next level.” The HX 375 has an upgraded Radeon 890M GPU, which can hit over 100fps in Forza Horizon 5 (1080p, medium) and, with FSR in tow, can hit well over 60fps in Cyberpunk 2077 (1080p, low). That’s great performance to get from a tiny PC.

That isn’t to discount the Intel option entirely. It might not perform as exceptionally as the AMD version, but the Geekom IT15’s Core Ultra processor – which will go right up to the 285H – can dish out some okay-ish performance. Its bigger sibling, the 285K, is capable of hitting over 100fps in Overwatch 2, for example.

Geekom will also be showing off its Snapdragon X Elite mini PC, which we’ve previously reported on. This will be the first PC of its kind with the chip inside, as Qualcomm’s Arm chips haven’t properly made it over to the mainstream desktop yet. There’s hope that with more chips out, progress can be made on the gaming front to turn the Arm chip into a true powerhouse.

Both AMD and Nvidia are expected to show off their latest GPU hardware at CES 2025, including the new RTX 5090, and we’re hoping to catch a glimpse of what will populate future mini PCs as well.
