- The patch addresses bug fixes, adds quality-of-life improvements and better mod support for players, and more.
Stardew Valley has released its latest update for PC and mobile devices, giving players on those platforms better rewards for catching the game’s elusive legendary fish. The Stardew Valley 1.6.15 Patch also adds in a few quality-of-life improvements, fixes to a number of persistent bugs in the game, and changes for mod users.
While this patch is only available now on select platforms, game creator ConcernedApe states that the changes will also be hitting console versions of the game as soon as he’s able to sync them up with the PC version. It’s unclear how much time that will take, as there was a noticeable gap of nearly eight months between the console and mobile release of Stardew Valley 1.6 and that version’s initial availability on PC.

Here’s a list of the best fishing spots in Stardew Valley for players to level up their fishing skills.
The highlight of this latest patch centers around Stardew Valley‘s legendary fish. Legendary fish that have been placed into fishponds on players’ farms will now have a much higher frequency of producing roe, and the value of the roe that they produce is also increasing. While ConcernedApe did not specify the exact amounts by which these values are changing, the new rates should provide a boost to the income of players who have managed to catch and farm legendary fish.
Currently, there are 10 different Legendary Fish in Stardew Valley, with each producing a different kind of roe. Prior to the new patch, the cheapest unprocessed roe was a tie between those produced by Angler and Ms. Angler, coming in at 480g apiece. While that’s not the highest-profit-margin product players can produce on their farms, the number jumps up considerably at the upper end of the legendary fish roe scale, with the unprocessed roe of the Legend and Legend 2 worth 2,530g each. Aging either of these fish’s roe in the past has increased their value to 5,060g apiece, or 7,084 with the Artisan perk, so further price hikes included in the new patch should mark a significant spike in the economies of players farming them.
In addition to that big boost, the update also provides some additional support for players running some popular Stardew Valley mods. These changes include making sure the appearance of buildings matches the current in-game season, better support for fridges that have an increased storage size, and repairs to previously inoperable interior doors. Multiplayer has also received some bug fix attention, repairing problems including farmhands passing out while using warps and the same pieces of mail getting sent to farmhands daily.
