Was Anybody Really Expecting Stalker 2 To Not Be Broken?
Stalker 2 was always going to launch in this state.
It was a massive update, which revamped the entire NPC AI system, so it had an understandably large size – and that was only the first round of fixes. However, the devs have already released another patch before most players got to experience the improvements implemented by Patch 1.1.
Patch 1.1.1 Fixes Crashing Issues In Stalker 2
As with any major update, when you fix one thing, there’s a big chance that something else could break – that’s just a fact of game development. However, GSC Game World acted swiftly, and has already put out patches that have fixed some crashing issues.

Fixed some of the issues that led to a crash during shader loading for some players.
It’s unclear whether the crashing issues were caused due to Patch 1.1, but the timing makes it seem like it was a quick fix for something that went wrong with the major update. Fans have been showing their love for the developers, who have been toiling on the base game, and now all the fixes, under harsh conditions.
Many were even surprised at the speed at which GSC Game World put out Patch 1.1.1, especially considering the amount of work the devs have been putting in and the risk of burnout, which to their credit, they have spoken about.
However, the dedication of the developers has paid off, as pointed out by GSC Game World owner Maksym Krippa revealed that the game is already turning a profit, and sold over 1 million copies on launch day. In fact, there are talks of Stalker getting a TV adaptation as well.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is the long-awaited follow-up to the apocalyptic first-person shooter. As a Stalker, you must venture into the deadly Exclusion Zone, contending with mutants and warring factions alike, in search of valuable artifacts.
