Pokemon TCG Pocket Player Reveals Unexpected Counter for OP Card Combo

A Pokemon TCG Pocket player has discovered that Jynx is an unexpectedly effective counter to the Celebi ex and Serperior combo. New cards debuted in Pokemon TCG Pocket with the release of the Mythical Island mini-set, but the Grass-type duo is already making headlines for being incredibly strong.

Celebi ex and Serperior have shown a high level of synergy in Pokemon TCG Pocket. While the Mythical pocket monster from Johto can deal great damage, Serperior boosts this damage output even further by providing more energy to Celebi. It didn’t take long for players to be impressed with such a strong combo, rivaling other duos such as Mewtwo ex and Gardevoir. But while players are worried about how to deal with the new duo, one community member has already found a way to do it, and it’s surprisingly simple.

A new Pokemon TCG Pocket leak is shared, and reveals exciting information for players hoping for the addition of more promo cards.

A Redditor on the Pokemon TCG Pocket sub shared a tip for countering the Celebi ex and Serperior combo, which is to use Jynx. The reason is the Gen 1 Pokemon‘s ability, Psychic, which deals 20 additional damage for every energy the opposing player’s active monster has attached. Since the basis of the synergy between Celebi and Serperior is to attach as many energies as possible, all Jynx would need is for Celebi to have three energies attached to one-shot, assuming Serperior is on the opponent’s bench.

Another point in Jynx’s favor is that Psychic is a relatively strong attack, as its base damage is 110, while two energies are all players need to use. The comments section approved the OP’s tip, with one player calling Jynx “the best counter” to the Celebi ex and Serperior combo. Other players noted that Alakazam is also a potential counter, as it knows Psychic, with the difference that its version of the attack deals 30 extra damage instead of 20. However, it’s important to note that Jynx still stands out for being a basic Pokemon, so the player can use the card as soon as they pull it. Alakazam, on the other hand, is a card with three stages of evolution, while the cost of its Psychic is higher (three energies).

With the release of the Pokemon TCG Pocket Mythical Island mini-set, more than 60 new cards were introduced, including five all-new ex cards. In addition to Celebi, players can try their luck and open booster packs to pull Mew, Gyarados, Pidgeot, and Aerodactyl ex cards, with the latter also being a way to battle Serperior. Other cards that have been catching players’ attention are Taurus and the new Eevee.
