Since the return of BGMI in 2023, Krafton has hosted two major tournaments in India per year. The grand finals of these tournaments are held in an arena or stadium within a city in India. In 2024, Krafton India hosted the BGMI India Series (BGIS) in Hyderabad and the Pro Series (BMPS) in Kochi. The interesting part about this year is that Team XSpark secured the trophy during both tournaments, making them one of the best esports teams in BGMI.

For 2025, Krafton India has announced that registrations for the BGIS 2025 will begin on Jan. 3. The tournament will feature a prize pool of INR 20,000,000 ($235,032.82). Registration is free and open to any team in India. The tournament’s Grand Finals are set to take place in Kolkata, West Bengal, in April.

Following BGIS 2025, the BMPS 2025 will be launched by Krafton India. This invite-only tournament will showcase the country’s top professional teams competing for another INR 20,000,000 ($235,032.82) prize pool.

In a video discussing the BGMI Esports Roadmap for the first half of 2025, Karan Pathak, Associate Director of Esports at Krafton India, announced that the esports roadmap for the second half of 2025 will be revealed during the LAN finals of BGIS 2025 in Kolkata.

Krafton India has also announced the launch of the Rising Star program. This program is focused on upcoming esports players and content creators. The program aims to provide focused mentorship to enhance live streaming, build social media content strategies, and strengthen personal branding for aspiring esports talent.

There will also be the return of the BGMI Esports college campus tour program in 2025. Krafton India has decided to invest another INR 20,000,000 ($235,032.82) in this event. Each college that hosts this event will receive over INR 200,000 ($2,350).

It feels like Krafton India is changing its approach to esports within India in 2025. Since BGIS and BMPS are located close to each other, it will be interesting to see how the different stakeholders within the ecosystem react to this schedule.
