Warframe:1999 introduces the characters of The Hex, a group of six people that tried to save the city of Höllvania in 1999. After an intense encounter on the last day of that year and a huge fight against the Scaldra, led by Major Rusalka, you will be able to chill out a bit and get to know these wonderful characters.
Are you interested in romancing a particular character from 1999? Yeah, you and me both, pal. One of the new systems introduced is the Relationships and Romance System, which lets you get more intimate with the members of The Hex, whether your intentions are merely friendly, casual, or romantic.
Relationship And Romance System
Once you have the syndicate unlocked, one of the tabs in the Pom-2 PC at your orbiter will show a retro-looking chat platform. You must click on each character’s profile and you’ll notice introductory messages you can answer to; depending on your choices, you will advance in your relationship with that character.
Your closeness to a Hex member will be categorized in levels of Chemistry. Each level of Chemistry is represented with a different status on their profile pages in the 2-Pom Pc:
- Neutral
- Friendly
- Liked
- Trusted
- Close
- Best Friends / Loved
On top of that, certain ranks are gated behind your overall Syndicate progression; you won’t be able to reach Friendly without Rank 2, Liked without Rank 3, Trusted before Rank 4, and Close before Rank 5. Likewise, Reaching Liked is necessary to unlock the true finale of The Hex main story quest.
Keep in mind that the results do not have to end up in a mandatory romance, and you can choose to just befriend the members of the Hex instead.
After reaching the Trusted rank, you can choose to pursue an official romantic relationship with a character. Go to their vending location in the Mall, and there you’ll be able to ask them to date you, but only one of them at a time; if you wish to pursue another relationship, you must break up with your current one.
Daily Ways To Increase Chemistry
Once per day, you will be able to increase your Chemistry with a character through the following methods:
- Sending a Gift through DIRECTGIFTZ: You’ll be able to send them a gift after each chat conversation, and depending on what you learn about them, you’ll know what to choose. Remember that you must choose a gift that the character likes, usually hinted at in their profile pages. If you fail to do so, you won’t have your chemistry increased.
- Chat with them on KIM: Depending on your dialogue choices, you may or may not get a chemistry increase; if you do, their next text will have a golden glimmer.
- Finishing Bounties: You will be able to obtain Chemistry experience by doing Bounties; each bounty will boost the chemistry with a specific character, and that character will accompany you in the mission.
If you’re afraid of choosing the wrong gifts or dialogue choices, just remember that you can only gain Chemistry, not lose it.
Birthday Messages
During the birthdays of each one of the six members, you’ll be able to have an extra conversation that will reward you with some extra chemistry. The list goes as follows:
- Arthur: November 3
- Amir: May 23
- Aoi: July 10
- Eleanor: November 2
- Lettie: February 14
- Quincy: December 4
