Marvel Rivals: Magik Hero Guide
Here’s how to dominate the battlefield with Magik’s devastating greatsword in Marvel Rivals!
One of them is Namor, the King of the Seas, who utilizes the Trident of Neptune to best his opposition. This enables him to channel water and aquatic monsters to dominate the battlefield. And, to sweeten the deal, Namor is also super beginner-friendly, making him an excellent choice for newcomers!
Updated December 19, 2024, by Seth Parmer: Since the beta, Namor has received a slight health bump in the full release of Marvel Rivals, which can make him remain in encounters a bit longer than before, which is scary considering he was pretty dominant in the beta. We also highlighted his Team-Up Ability a bit more, as it is one of the best offerings in the game and should be utilized to make Namor shine even brighter!
Namor Overview In Marvel Rivals
Namor is a rather straightforward Duelist in Marvel Rivals. Once you get the hang of his utility, he can effortlessly set his offense up, dish out lots of damage, and rack up KOs. Furthermore, he is a Ranged DPS character, allowing him to largely stay outside the chaos and chip away at his opposition.
But as you could have assumed, since Namor is a Duelist, he won’t have much health, making him highly susceptible to ganks and enemy flanking. However, he possesses a solid ‘get out of jail free card’ that allows him to bounce when things get too sketchy.

Namor Team-Ups
Chilling Charisma is one of the better Team-Ups in Marvel Rivals as it enables Luna Snow to empower Namor and Jeff the Land Shark, allowing them to buff any ability of their choosing, which can lead to devastating results. While this didn’t change from the beta, Namor’s health did get slightly buffed, so he can stay in the fight a bit longer than before.
If you’re going to run as Namor, try having at least Luna Snow on your team, as being able to buff any of Namor’s abilities is extremely strong. This made him a tear in the beta and that remains the case now, especially more so that his health has been slightly increased on top of that!
Namor Abilities
Ability |
Description |
---|---|
Trident of Neptune LMB/R2/RT |
Namor tosses the Trident of Neptune forward, dealing decent damage on impact and reducing Aquatic Dominion’s cooldown time on contact. |
Wrath of the Seven Seas RMB/L2/LT |
Hurl the Trident of Neptune forward, having any summoned Monstro Spawns perform an enhanced attack on the enemy struck by this action. |
Aquatic Dominion E/R1/RB |
Summons a Monstro Spawn into the arena. Namor can hold a maximum of two stacks of Aquatic Dominion, allowing him to summon two Monstro Spawns at a time. |
Blessing of the Deep LSHIFT/L1/LB |
Namor leaps into the air, surrounded by a protective barrier of water, allowing him to move freely through the sky to safety. |
Horn of Proteus Q/L3+R3 |
Summon the large Atlantean Beast, Giganto, into the arena, having it dive onto your targets, temporarily nullifying their mobility abilities. |
Frozen Spawn Team-Up Ability |
If Luna Snow is on your team, she can offer Namor and Jeff the Land Shark some of her Ice Energy, which will buff any ability they choose to infuse with her power. |
Not having too many moves to work with is part of what makes Namor so accessible to newcomers. Being a Ranged DPS allows you to get your offense rolling without having to worry about getting up close and personal with the opposition.
Despite having some management with the Monstro Spawns, Namor’s kit is incredibly straightforward and simple to understand. He’s a rewarding character to play and is incredibly fun to learn and control, making him one of the best Duelists you can choose in Marvel Rivals for newcomers and hardcore players alike!
Recommended Teams
As a relatively straightforward Duelist, Namor will generally pair well with just about any team composition. Still, we cannot understate how excellent Luna Snow’s Team-Up Ability is for him, and we highly recommend trying to have her on your team if you can.
The added damage from her Ice Energy makes Namor even stronger than ever, and Luna Snow’s ability to keep him topped off is an added bonus. Aside from her, you can roll with pretty much anyone else, as it shouldn’t matter too much here. As long as you cover your basis and do your job, and your team is doing theirs, you will be unstoppable with Namor’s ability to dish out damage from a safe distance.
Additionally, if you have Luna Snow on your team, you may as well get Jeff the Land Shark in the mix as well, as he is currently one of the best Heroes in the game and can really make Namor shine if they both utilize the Team-Ups to its full potential!
How To Play As Namor In Marvel Rivals
Again, Namor is a pretty inoffensive character to learn, and getting his offense going will require little effort. And if things do go south, you can use his Blessing of the Deep ability to get out of dodge, reposition yourself, and reset your suffocating offense again. Overall, you should be able to easily pick up and play Namor, especially after learning some of his combo patterns!
Namor Combos In Marvel Rivals
- Aquatic Dominion > Trident of Neptune > Aquatic Dominion > Wrath of the Seven Seas > Trident of Neptune
- Aquatic Dominion > Aquatic Dominion > Trident of Neptune > Wrath of the Seven Seas > Blessing of the Deep
- Aquatic Dominion > Aquatic Dominion > Trident of Neptune > Wrath of the Seven Seas > Horn of Proteus > Aquatic Dominion > Trident of Neptune > Wrath of the Seven Seas > Blessing of the Deep
Aquatic Dominion is how you should begin all of Namor’s combos, as it places a Monstro Spawn onto the arena, allowing Wrath of the Seven Seas to enhance its damage output. Placing two down and then executing Wrath of the Seven Seas will deal devastating amounts of damage to your target, making it an excellent way to use them together.
From here, utilizing Trident of Neptune’s ability to lower Aquatic Dominion’s cooldown timer will allow you to keep placing them and executing Wrath of the Seven Seas to keep your pressure and high damage up. And this is all without factoring in the potential damage buff from Luna Snow’s Team-Up Ability.
Don’t forget that the moment things get a bit too hairy, you can use Blessing of the Deep to temporarily shield yourself from all incoming damage and get out of there to regroup or reposition. Being a ranged character allows Namor to stay out of the heart of the combat, but every now and again, he gets jumped, and this tool saves him every time!
When To Use Horn Of Proteus
Horn of Proteus is Namor’s Ultimate Ability in Marvel Rivals, having him summon Giganto into the arena, having him dive onto a group of enemies, temporarily nullifying their movement-based abilities. This makes it an excellent tool for trapping enemies in a specific area, allowing your team to dive and dispatch them quickly and efficiently.
You should use this action during your combo, usually to extend it further. You will likely be able to resummon Monstro Spawns and use Wrath of the Seven Seas to continue your offensive pressure and rack up even more damage. The third combo highlighted above shows what a combo incorporating the Horn of Proteus looks like.
When it comes to an Ultimate Ability that nullifies the opposing team’s movement abilities, you should always use it alongside your team, as they can also take advantage of their impaired mobility. Using it on a singular enemy is also pointless, so ensure you’re using it to its full potential, and please notify your team ahead of time so they can prepare to capitalize on it as well!
