Call of Duty’s New Archie’s Frenzy Event Is Broken for Some Players
With Call of Duty‘s Merry Mayhem event recently coming to an end, players were eager to jump into Archie’s Festival Frenzy on December 19, but some players were left disappointed after a serious bug allowed them to unlock all of the event’s rewards. Over on Reddit, various users are sharing similar posts about how they started the event with thousands of Jolly Archies already available. For reference, the most expensive reward in the event only costs 50 Jolly Archies, but one player started with well over 20,000, meaning they could unlock every cosmetic item and the new weapon in an instant.
Not everyone is being affected by this bug though. While some are reporting that they’ve started the event with thousands of Jolly Archies, others, such as RMennie, say they’ve started with nothing. The bug also seems to have divided the community, with some stating that they are happy they don’t have to grind over the holiday period, while others saying they were “looking forward to the grind.” In total, there are 14 rewards for Call of Duty‘s Archie’s Festival Frenzy event, with the final reward being the brand-new Sniper Rifle. So for players who weren’t lucky enough to experience this event-ruining bug, there are two weeks to grind to unlock all of the event’s rewards.
Since its release on October 25, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has hosted multiple in-game events, with many of them allowing users to unlock brand-new weapons. However, one of the game’s first events caused controversy as Black Ops 6 players could pay to unlock the event’s new weapon early. The Sirin 9mm SMG was supposed to give players a reason to grind the Hit List event, but shortly after the event began, Activision added a new bundle to the in-game store with a blueprint for the Sirin 9mm, which allowed users to unlock the base weapon instantly.
