Black Ops 6 Archie’s Festival Frenzy Called A “Terrible Grind”

Black Ops 6 Archie's Festival Frenzy Called A “Terrible Grind”

Summary

  • Archie’s Festival Frenzy event in Black Ops 6 is frustrating due to poor drop rates for Jolly Archies.
  • Players need 280+ figurines for all rewards, taking over 55 matches to achieve.
  • Some players started the event with thousands of Jolly Archies, while others struggle to collect enough.

It’s safe to say that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s events have been pretty divisive so far. The recent Jingle Hells event was slated for its difficulty, and the Hit List event’s unlock requirements were seen as unrealistic.

However, the latest event, Archie’s Festival Frenzy, may be the most polarizing yet, with players having a bunch of different issues with it.

Black Ops 6’s Archie’s Festival Frenzy Event Has Not Gone Down Well

There are a few reasons why players are frustrated at the Archie’s Festival Frenzy event. During play, after being killed, enemies may drop a Jolly Archie figurine. Players will need to collect these figurines, which are then used as a currency in the event.

The first problem is that the drop rates for these figures are not great. Players will need to collect roughly 280 Jolly Archies to unlock every reward, which includes the new AMR Mod 4 sniper rifle. Unfortunately, it’s being reported that players are only collecting two or three of the figures per game, meaning unlocking everything will take a serious amount of time.

In one of the many Reddit threads about the event, TheMarionberry5375 said, “I got five in two matches of multiplayer with like 70-75 kills in both games all together. This is wack.” At this rate, it’d take over 55 matches, or around 4,100 kills, to achieve all rewards. Dudes-a-Lady reported a similar rate, saying, “Third game, and got ZERO Dolls with a score of 4.8k and 32 kills, and six captures. I saw ZERO Dolls in this match!”

Third game, and got ZERO Dolls with a score of 4.8k and 32 kills, and six captures. I saw ZERO Dolls in this match!

The event is made even worse for snipers, as it relies on physically collecting an item from a killed enemy. This means that if you snipe somebody from across the map and they drop a Jolly Archie, you need to head over there, risking getting killed, to collect it.

The icing on the cake, however, is that while some players are forced to grind hard, others were seemingly given a free pass for the event.

There have been dozens of reports on the Black Ops 6 subreddit of players who started the event with thousands and thousands of Jolly Archies, meaning they could unlock all rewards instantly. As you can expect, this didn’t go down well.

Lew1989 spoke for everybody forced to grind when they said, “What a s**t show this really is. I’d understand if it was a few people, but it seems everyone and their next-door neighbor has instantly completed the event.”

With such a colossal mistake on its hands, it will be interesting to see what Activision does to rectify it.

Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.

The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.

In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.

Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
