As one of the most enduring video game IPs ever created, Tomb Raider has a solid fan base which has steadily grown. Many nostalgia-fueled gamers still look on Lara Croft’s earlier years as her best, though, which is why Aspyr’s Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered Collection proved to be such a hit with fans of the gun-toting explorer. The developer hasn’t stopped there either, with Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered set for release in early 2025.
Game Rant recently sat down with Aspyr’s brand manager Matthew Ray to discuss the Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered collection. Aspyr worked closely with the Tomb Raider community while developing both trilogies, and fan support has helped shape the remasters. Ray is hopeful that fans will be able to experience some of the same emotions that they had the first time around when they originally discovered these titles.

Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered Collection Has Been Handled With Care
Aspyr’s priority is to handle the source material with the love and care it deserves, preserving the original experiences as much as possible. These games hold a special place in the hearts of many gamers, some of which will not have returned to them until now. Ray has been all too aware of this during development, and he understands just how important Tomb Raider‘s fan base is to Aspyr. He said,
”For longtime fans, I hope these remasters feel like a love letter to the series—a chance to relive cherished memories in a way that feels fresh yet faithful. For newcomers, I hope this collection serves as an exciting introduction to Lara Croft’s darker, more introspective adventures. Ultimately, we want every player to come away with a renewed appreciation for how revolutionary these games were and how much they’ve contributed to gaming.”
Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered introduced several features to modernize the titles from the option to switch between old and new graphics at the push of a button to an altered control scheme that does away with the classic ‘tank’ controls. These features proved popular with fans and will return in the new entry, and Ray is excited for fans to experience this fresh take on the next trilogy. He said,
”I’d just like to say how grateful we are to the fans for their unwavering support.
Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered
is a celebration of Lara Croft’s legacy and the community that has championed her adventures for decades. We hope this remaster brings you the same sense of discovery and adventure you felt the first time—or something entirely new if you’re diving in fresh. It’s an exciting time to be a Tomb Raider fan, and we’re thrilled to have you along for the ride!”
As well as having Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered to look forward to, fans of the franchise will be hoping that they get a closer look at Crystal Dynamics’ new Tomb Raider game in 2025. Not much is known about the project yet, aside from Lara Croft’s new look being unveiled earlier this year and the fact that the project is using Unreal Engine 5. Until then, though, this new remaster collection will have plenty of classic Tomb Raider content to keep fans busy when it releases on February 14.
