Just one day after its global release, Alien: Rogue Incursion, a Virtual Reality title set within the world of Alien, has become the subject of controversy. Specifically, the controversy is related to a stealth update to its Steam storefront page, where it has been revealed that Rogue Incursion is Part 1 of two planned games.
As shared on Twitter by a VR content creator, Rogue Incursion’s Steam page did not previously make mention of a planned sequel. However, it was updated to reflect that this game is now a two-part series.
In the wake of this update, its developer, Survios, has been accused of misleading business practices. As a result, the game has dropped to “Mixed” on Steam, with one review labeling the game as the “Scam Of The Year.”

On Twitter, the official Survios account has responded to several accounts, detailing its plans for the two games, in addition to defending its practices.
In one specific reply, Survios had this to say when accused of cutting the game in half in order to squeeze out two products:
We didn’t cut anything in half. Part 1 is indeed built as a standalone game, with Part 2 continuing the story and escalating the experience.
At the time of writing, a larger statement seems to have not been released. Rather, Survios’ stance is largely reflected in replies on social media. It is also unclear if there will be any benefits for Day 1 supporters.
