Summary
- Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can get Star Wars Battlefront 2: Celebration Edition for free until December 20 via the Xbox Store.
- Celebration Edition includes additional features like multiple appearances, emotes, and victory poses.
- EA is giving away other titles and DLCs during the holiday period, running from December 17 through December 26.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can now pick up a free copy of Star Wars Battlefront 2: Celebration Edition for a limited time, thanks to EA Play’s ongoing holiday celebrations. Star Wars Battlefront 2 is the latest EA title to be given away throughout the month of December, but the deal is only available until December 20, which means fans looking to add the 2017 title to their library will need to act fast.
After sitting dormant for many years, EA rebooted the Star Wars Battlefront franchise back in 2015, followed by a sequel in 2017. Both titles received mixed reviews at launch, but Battlefront 2 currently has a “very positive” review rating on Steam with over 50,000 user reviews. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Aspyr’s recently released Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection, which has a “mostly negative” rating on Steam due to the increased price, small number of servers at launch, and myriad of bugs.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 Free On Xbox Game Pass For A Limited Time
As part of EA’s ongoing holiday celebrations, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play members can grab a copy of Star Wars Battlefront 2: Celebration Edition at no extra cost until December 20 via the Xbox Store. Unlike the game’s standard edition, the celebration edition includes more than 25 Hero appearances, 125 Trooper and Reinforcement appearances, 100 Hero and Trooper Emotes and Voice Lines, and 70 Hero and Trooper Victory Poses. This isn’t the first time that Star Wars Battlefront 2: Celebration Edition has been given away for free, as Epic Games users could pick up the game for free for a limited time back in 2021, but now Xbox users can also pick up this popular sequel.
Star Wars Battlefront 2: Celebration Edition‘s free giveaway comes shortly after Xbox Game Pass Ultimate gave away a free copy of Battlefield 1 Revolution, another hit EA game that was released in 2017. Unfortunately, the title is no longer redeemable for free as EA continues to cycle through a selection of games and DLC to give away during the holiday period. In a blog post earlier this week, EA announced it would be giving away plenty of digital gifts from December 17 through December 26. Although not all of the titles and DLCs being given away were revealed, the studio did mention Battlefield 1: Revolution, The Sims 4 Home Chef Hustle Stuff Pack, Titanfall 2: Ultimate Edition, and 500 PGA Tour Points in EA Sports PGA Tour.
Xbox Game Pass has had a monumental few months, recently adding Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, STALKER 2, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, all on day one. For those subscribed to the service’s highest tier, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, be sure to keep an eye on even more EA titles and DLCs being given away for free until December 26.
