Fortnite Chapter 6 has introduced a brand-new Giant Turtle POI to the Island that is also tied to a quest. So, here’s where you can find it.
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 is live, bringing with it a bunch of new NPCs, weapons, and POIs themed around Japanese mythology. As with every seasonal update, new locations are slowly added to the map with quests encouraging players to check them out, an example being the Giant Turtle located in the area between Whiffy Warf and Lost Lake.
While the turtle was previously a fixed spawn, it can now pop up in one of seven different locations at the start of a match. This can confuse players attempting to find the giant. So, here are all the spawn locations for the Giant Turtle in Fortnite.

Here are all seven spawn locations for the Giant Turtle:
- Whiffy Wharf
- Nightshift Forest
- Northwest of Lost Lake
- South of Pumped Power
- East of Seaport City
- Southeast of Warrior’s Watch
- Northeast of Masked Meadows
While dropping from the Battle Bus, you should be able to spot the turtle near one of these locations from above. Its massive shell is hard to miss, but if you can’t spot it, it’s best to head to one of the other locations.
How to complete The Great Turtle quest in Fortnite
To complete The Great Turtle quest, you’ll need to climb and reach the top of the Giant Turtle and interact with an NPC named Ryuji. The NPC has taken it upon himself to aid the turtle from darkness and loneliness. After talking to him, five Dark Magic Thorns will pop up on the turtle’s back, destroy them using your Pickaxe, and talk to Ryuji to complete the quest.
The NPC will reward you with a legendary chest. Keep in mind that the quest will expire on January 29, 2025, so you have limited time to complete it.
