Hunter August Hancock, better known as MeatCanyon or Papa Meat, has been banned from Twitch in mid-December 2024. His latest Twitch ban interrupted the content creator’s whimsical fundraising initiative seeking to pay for his new barn.
MeatCanyon rose to prominence on YouTube for inventive animated parodies of various media and celebrities featuring macabre humor. He has approximately eight million subscribers on the platform as of late 2024. His Twitch content is typically much more casual and largely focused on gaming sessions. But such content also has a sizable audience, as underlined by the fact that MeanCanyon presently boasts around 214,000 followers on the Amazon-owned streaming service.

The content creator’s streaming career hit a bit of a roadblock on December 17, when his channel was banned from Twitch, Dexerto reports. The suspension arrived in the middle of a streaming marathon that saw MeatCanyon attempt to raise funds for a new barn. The whimsical initiative was originally envisioned as a single-day stream planned for December 13, but eventually turned into a multi-day affair. MeatCanyon was last live on Twitch on December 16, streaming League of Legends.
MeatCanyon’s Twitch Ban Is Only Temporary
The notice that Twitch attached to MeatCanyon’s channel following the December 17 ban suggests that this sanction is only temporary. As per usual, the video service didn’t publicly go into any details about the suspension, with its generic notice merely stating that MeatCanyon was banned for violating the Twitch community guidelines or terms of service.
MeatCanyon himself likely knows more about the situation, as the emails that Twitch sends to notify streamers about bans typically include explanations detailing the reasons for such decisions. And while content creators can obviously share this information with their fans, it’s currently unclear whether MeatCanyon intends to do so. He did acknowledge the ban on December 17, but only as part of a two-word tweet expressing disappointment. According to some social media speculation from his fans, the ban may have been a response to one of MeatCanyon’s producers showing his nipples during the December 16 livestream. The broadcast is also said to have included some copyrighted music, another potentially bannable offense.
Looking at the slightly bigger picture, this is MeatCanyon’s fourth Twitch ban since 2022, according to data compiled by StreamerBans. Each of his three prior account suspensions lasted for only three days, suggesting it was issued over a minor infraction. It’s currently unclear whether his Twitch fundraising initiative will resume after his ban is lifted.
