Streamer QuarterJade Threatened by Stalker

Streamer QuarterJade Threatened by Stalker

Summary

  • QuarterJade shared a stalker threat on stream, emphasizing the dangers female streamers face.
  • Stalking and doxxing are common issues for streamers.
  • Swatting, a dangerous prank, is also a serious problem in the streaming community, potentially causing long-term psychological harm.

Twitch streamer QuarterJade, also known as Jodi by her fans and peers, shared a scary experience of a stalker threatening her. Because of the real-time nature of livestreaming, many Twitch streamers have unfortunate experiences with fans stalking or doxxing them.

QuarterJade is known for her gaming streams, mostly playing Valorant, Marvel Rivals, and other similar competitive titles with her friends. On her YouTube channel, she uploads vlog and lifestyle content where she shares bits and pieces of her life with her fans. The streamer is also often seen shooting entertaining content with OfflineTV, the creator group she’s part of along with DisguisedToast and LilyPichu.

During a recent stream, QuarterJade talked about being threatened by a stalker when she was still new to Twitch. YouTube channel OTV COPIUM uploaded a four-minute video of the story, where QuarterJade said that just three weeks into streaming, someone sent her a screenshot of her house “with some not-very-nice words.” This incident, she said, was one of the reasons why she’s become more careful of keeping her personal information safe to prevent something like this from happening again.

QuarterJade on Receiving Threats as a Female Twitch Streamer

QuarterJade also went on to talk about random people raiding her streams to send her sexual assault and death threats, as well as harassing her in chat and Twitch’s Whisper function to pressure her to play with a fan. She admitted that she considered quitting because of the harassment that she received from presumably male viewers, but still continued to stream. The streamer said that she told herself that she wouldn’t let men be the reason for her to quit streaming, and not letting them take away a job that she loves doing. Many of her viewers expressed their love and support for QuarterJade, while also calling for people to stop being creepy and abusive to streamers.

Unfortunately, QuarterJade’s experience is just one of many stalking and doxxing stories from the streaming space, which usually affects women. Fellow streamer BrookeAB famously opened up about getting the FBI involved to find her stalker, who had been harassing her and her loved ones for years on social media. Amouranth also had a similar experience, where an Estonian stalker broke into her Texas home.

Swatting is also a huge problem in the streaming space, where fans contact the authorities at a creator’s home as a prank. This dangerous joke threatens the safety of the victims and could even cause long-term psychological damage. For example, QTCinderella once talked about getting PTSD due to multiple swatting incidents at their home.
