These Marvel Rivals characters can take to the skies to avoid enemy attacks, while also dishing out plenty of damage themselves.
Besides the various abilities they have, each character also has a unique amount of health that improves their chances of survival. For players that are looking for a character in Marvel Rivals that is likely to live, these are the characters with the most health, ranked. It should be noted that although there are characters with less base health that gain health from their ultimates, these characters are ranked by their base health with ultimates being mentioned somewhat.
12 Mantis
Her Ultimate Increases Her Health Further
- Health: 275 (525 from Soul Resurgence)
- Role: Strategist
While the majority of the strategists in Marvel Rivals have the least amount of health, there are some characters in this role that even have more health than some DPS characters available. Mantis is a great example of this, as she has a base health level of 275, which gives her a better chance of survival as long as she sticks with her team.
This empathetic character from the Guardians of the Galaxy can increase her health further when using the ultimate Soul Resurgence, as the combination of shields while using this ultimate increases her health to 525 to allow her to health those around her while not being picked off quickly.
11 Luna Snow
The Strategist With The Most Health
- Health: 275 (525 from Fate of Both Worlds)
- Role: Strategist
Luna Snow is another strategist character in Marvel Rivals with a decent amount of base health that players who are looking to play a strategist that will likely survive longer than others should play.
This K-pop artist with snow powers is very similar to Mantis, as she can also gain more health from using her ultimate. Fate of Both Worlds not only speeds up or heals the player’s teammates but also boosts Luna’s health through shields to allow her to survive for even longer when using her ultimate.
10 Wolverine
One Of The Duelists With The Most Base Health
- Health: 300
- Role: Duelist
Although both Mantis and Luna Snow have more health than Wolverine when using their ultimates, this incredible member of the X-Men still has more base health, which is greatly needed by this Duelist. Wolverine is required to lunge at his enemies to deal damage up close, with his rage making his claws hit even harder.

In Marvel Rivals, pairing the following characters with Hulk is a great recipe for success.
Since he risks his life so much to deal this damage, it is easy to see how Wolverine has the highest base health out of the Duelists available, though it is a surprise to see that his ultimate doesn’t boost this further.
9 Black Panther
Plenty Of Health To Be Close And Personal
- Health: 300
- Role: Duelist
There are quite a few melee-based duelist characters in Marvel Rivals, with Black Panther being another DPS option for players who want a character with plenty of health while also dealing a decent amount of damage. Black Panther and Wolverine work in similar ways, as they need to be up close and personal with their target if they hope to deal any damage.
The King of Wakanda also has a total of 3-00 health, with his ultimate doing nothing to change this. However, since T’Challa has so much health to begin with, players who decide to take this option should hopefully stay alive a lot longer, especially when picking off enemies that stray too far from their team.
8 Thor
The Vanguard With The Lowest Health
- Health: 600
- Role: Vanguard
Unsurprisingly, the vanguard characters that are deemed to be the tanks of Marvel Rivals are the characters with the most base health. This allows them to take plenty of hits for the team, drawing fire at themselves while duelists deal the majority of the damage.
Thor may have the least health out of the current available Vanguards in Marvel Rivals, but by having 600 hit points to play with, Thor isn’t going to die as quickly as others. However, players may still find themselves playing aggressively in the hopes of staying alive.
7 Magneto
Lots Of Health And Shields To Protect It
- Health: 650
- Role: Vanguard
With 50 extra health than Thor, Magneto is another great option for players who are looking to play a character with a lot of health. Alongside having plenty of health to play with, Magneto is also a character that has plenty of shields available to him.

Marvel Rivals: Counters To Venom
Venom has proven to be a popular member of the Marvel Rivals cast. Here are the heroes and villains who are capable of countering him.
Magneto first has his rectangular shield that he can hold out in front of him to prevent both himself and those behind him from being hit, allowing him to keep his obviously precious 650 health. Besides this, Magneto can also create a bubble shield on either an ally or himself to allow him to attack while also limiting the damage he takes.
6 Doctor Strange
Another Vanguard With Shields To Protect His Health
- Health: 650
- Role: Vanguard
Vanguards with shields continue to be some of the best characters in Marvel Rivals with the most health available to them. Doctor Strange is a surprising choice to see as a Vanguard, but this Sorcerer Supreme conjures up a shield to prevent himself and his allies from being attacked.
This magical shield is incredibly strong as it can take plenty of hits from the opponents that wish to take down Doctor Strange and his team, which therefore makes this shield feel like additional health to him, as the player can keep it up for so long.
5 Captain America
Freedom Charge Boosts The Survivability Of Him And The Whole Team
- Health: 650 (900 from Freedom Charge)
- Role: Vanguard
A common amount of health for the majority of the Vanguard characters in Marvel Rivals is 650. Captain America arguably has the weakest shield out of the Vanguard characters that carry them, though this patriotic hero makes up for this with his Freedom Charge ultimate.
When using his power, Captain America’s health goes from 650 to 900 so that he can lead a charge into the enemy without the risk of dying too quickly. This blessing of freedom isn’t just kept to himself, as he also shields all allies surrounding him for a greater advantage against the enemy.
4 Peni Parker
Standing Within Her Own Web Increases Her Health
- Health: 650 (1200 from Spider Sweeper)
- Role: Vanguard
As the final Vanguard character to have a total of 650 base health, Peni Parker, like Captain America, increases this base amount of health through her ultimate, Spider Sweeper. Once activated, the player will be able to rapidly fire mines and webs while also having a significant amount of shield that boosts the player’s health all the way up to 1200.

Marvel Rivals: Characters That Would Make Good Vanguards
Marvel Rivals has room for many more Vanguards to add to the rosters, including the likes of Count Dracula and Captain Marvel.
While it is still possible for the player to die in this form, it would require the opposing team to heavily focus on melting Peni Parker. Peni also gains a small amount of shield outside of her ultimate through her web ability, as standing on it allows her to not only be passively healed but also a small amount of shield.
3 Venom
A Large Base Health With No Need For More
- Health: 800
- Role: Vanguard
The bigger the character, the more health they have as seen with the symbiote Venom. This vanguard doesn’t have any ultimate that increases his health, but does have an incredibly boosted base amount of health, with Venom settling for 800.
If this health wasn’t already enough for players, Venom is also able to shield himself from some of the damage he takes, which increases his base health by a fraction. Therefore, a player that has chosen Venom can get in the faces of his enemies and attack with fewer worries.
2 Hero Hulk
Bruce May Be Weak, But Hulk Is Unstoppable
- Health: 200 (Bruce Banner) 800 (Hero Hulk) 1550 (Monster Hulk)
- Role: Vanguard
Players who decide to play the Vanguard character of Hulk are in for an interesting time, as they have two different health bars to pay attention to. While Hero Hulk – the main character players will want to stay as – has 800 health, if players are to lose all their health, instead of dying, the player becomes the scrawny scientist Bruce Banner.
When playing Bruce, the player only has 200 health. This quickly disintegrates if players find themselves losing all their health while still in danger, though it is possible to escape. If players remain as Hero Hulk, their ultimate will give them even more health as Monster Hulk rampages with a total of 1550 health, making him near impossible to defeat, though players cannot remain this way.
1 Groot
An Incredible Base Amount Of Health
- Health: 850
- Role: Vanguard
Out of all the available characters in Marvel Rivals, the character with the most health is Groot. This ginormous tree who happily sees himself in the Vanguard role in Marvel Rivals has the most base health out of the characters in the game and for good reason.
Not only can Groot create walls to block the attacks of others with no other way of shielding himself, Groot can even have Jeff the Land Shark or Rocket Raccoon – two of the characters with the least amount of health – ride on his back to give them added protection while they keep him alive.
