Fortnite OG Players Are Getting Sick of the Bots

Summary

  • Fortnite OG mode has many bots, causing disappointment among players.
  • Bots in Fortnite OG often display poor gameplay, making them easy to spot.
  • Epic Games has not confirmed bot count, but may address the issue in future patches.

Epic Games’ recently released OG game mode for Fortnite is getting a mixed response as players have discovered how many bots are in their lobbies. When Fortnite‘s OG mode was released, it was meant to mimic Chapter 1 Season 1, but there are some glaring differences.

Before Fortnite OG was released as its own game mode, Epic Games released a temporary season in the primary version of the game. This happened at the end of Chapter 4 when Fortnite OG took the place of Season 5 ahead of the release of Chapter 5. Because this Fortnite season broke player count records at the time, Epic surveyed its community to see if gamers would like to see OG return as its own mode. Due to popular demand, Fortnite OG exists alongside Battle Royale, Zero Build, and LEGO Fortnite. Despite its success, gamers are protesting OG’s apparent excessive use of bots.

Fortnite Leak Reveals Two OG Skins Are Returning After 7 Years

A prominent Fortnite leaker reveals that two skins that haven’t been in the item shop for over seven years are returning to the battle royale.

Reddit users Imalonexc and Alotofbytes are among many Fortnite OG players expressing their disappointment in Epic’s continued use of bots. The former highlighted an update from leaker Wensoing, who stated that OG lobbies have a minimum of 88 bots. According to the leaker, skill-based matchmaking plays no role in this, meaning that high-skill and low-skill players alike will find bots in their matches. The latter shared a gameplay clip showing two bots fighting each other in the final stage of the game. The video shows the player watching the two bots wasting ammo by shooting at everything but each other. The gamer then defeats both bots, earning a Fortnite Victory Royale that may not have been so easy if the lobby had more players.

Fortnite Fans Spot Massive Bot Issue in OG

While bots help populate each match to ensure that players aren’t waiting long for the next one, their glaring gameplay mistakes make them stand out from regular gamers. Though they occasionally have precise aim, they typically miss their shots and fail to hide behind cover or use utility items like Shockwave Grenades or Port-A-Bunkers. Beyond these bot issues in Fortnite OG, players have also highlighted various things that don’t belong in a mode that attempts to recreate Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 1. Among these are turbo building, advanced build editing, and large ammo boxes littered around the map. Build editing has been tweaked over the years, turbo building was added in patch 3.0, and large ammo boxes were introduced with patch 11.0.

Although some Fortnite leakers have suggested a high bot count in OG lobbies, Epic Games hasn’t confirmed this detail. As Epic continues to update Fortnite, the number of bots in these matches may decrease after a future patch. With Fortnite OG expected to continue through each Chapter 1 season, multiple problems may be resolved over time
