Marvel Rivals: 8 Counters To Venom
Venom has proven to be a popular member of the Marvel Rivals cast. Here are the heroes and villains who are capable of countering him.
From his best friend in the whole Marvel Universe to one of the strangest duos players will ever see in the Marvel Rivals matchmaking. Here, players will find useful advice alongside some interesting combinations that they might never have thought about.
1 Wolverine
Get That Gamma Fastball Going
- Has a special Team-Up ability with Hulk: Gamma Fastball
- He is great as an Anti-Tank and can help Hulk deal with other Vanguards
Wolverine is fast, deadly, and has a special ability that can be triggered when Hulk is in his team. The Emerald Giant will grab Logan and propel him in a parabolic shot. Logan is also capable of activating Feral Leap in the air to propel himself even further and faster.
This deadly combination can ruin entire teams that are not prepared to have a Wolverine catapulted on their heads in the middle of a team fight. And no team can be ready for this, no matter how hard they plan ahead: Logan is the best at what he does. On the other hand, Hulk can benefit greatly from having Wolverine beside him, since Logan can help him deal with other Vanguards like Dr. Strange, Captain America, and Venom.
2 Luna Snow
The Fastest Crowd Control And Heal Delivery
- Moves faster than most healers
- Buffs Damage and has Crowd Control
Luna Snow moves swiftly through the battlefield thanks to her Smooth Skate passive. She can assist Hulk in clearing out a priority target taken over by the enemies in no time. Thanks to her Ultimate that can switch from area heal to damage buff, she can take over the stage and associate with Vanguards and Duelists in the frontlines, as she delivers powerful ranged attacks empowered by her crowd control abilities.

Marvel Rivals: How to Play Luna Snow
Luna Snow is a lesser known hero in the Marvel Universe, but her ranged attacks and healing capabilities make her a popular pick in Marvel Rivals.
Hulk also has access to fast repositioning thanks to Incredible Leap, and Luna is one of the few Strategist healers who can follow his pace. So pick her up whenever Hulk is in the ally team, and check the results. The assists ratio will speak for itself.
3 Iron Man
A Gamma-Empowered Tony Stark Is A Menace
- Flies and can provide aerial support
- Gamma Overdrive Team-Up Power
Besides his absurdly overpowered kit, Iron Man also has a Team-Up passive that shares with Dr. Strange and Hulk, and whenever these three Avengers are in the field together, they will be empowered by the Emerald Giant’s Gamma Energy. In the case of Iron Man, his Repulsor Blast gains an escalating damage buff each time he uses it.
This makes his aerial fire support even more useful, and if he is following Hulk around as he smashes things, nothing can stop them. Unless, of course, another Hulk is on the Rival team, wielding a Wolverine Fast Ball (which can take Tony down for a spin).
4 Dr. Strange
The Sorcerer Supreme Protects Hulk From Snipers
- Can Cover For Hulk’s Weaknesses
- Has a Team-Up passive with Hulk
Dr. Strange has a particular ability that buffs his AoE power (Maelstrom of Madness) at the cost of applying a healing debuff to himself. But when Dr. Banner and Dr. Strange are working together, the Sorcerer Supreme is empowered by Gamma Radiation, and his AoE ability becomes Gamma Maelstrom. This empowered version of his primary AoE blast has better damage scaling and doesn’t apply the healing debuff.
On the other hand, Strange can cover up for Hulk’s weaknesses, like the lack of mitigation when his Gamma Shield falls. Strange can block incoming projectiles meant for the Emerald Giant, and Hulk can cover his back creating a powerful synergy that is especially helpful during Convoy Mode. When pushing the payload becomes unbearable due to heavy enemy fire, Dr. Strange and Hulk are the best choices to keep the cargo moving.
5 Winter Soldier
Can Flank And Disperse Enemies Swarming Hulk
- Powerful CC, Pulls, and Range Attack Coverage
- Great Ultimate To Clear Out enemies
Winter Soldier is good at both frontal and side assaults. He is a versatile Duelist with access to a wide array of crowd-control abilities that pair nicely with Hulk’s destructive power. When Hulk jumps in the middle of a group of enemies, Winter Soldier can use support fire and his abilities to slow, stun, and pull Rivals as the Emerald Giant works his magic.

Marvel Rivals: 10 Comic Book Costumes That Should Be Added
From Big Time Spider-Man to the late 90s Black Panther, there are costumes from the comics that would make strong additions to Marvel Rivals.
When Hulk turns into Monster Hulk, Winter Soldier can use Kraken Impact to mark enemies for execution, and Banner’s worst side can then cull them down like fleas. It is such a powerful combo that it has become a meta in competitive, and quite annoying to deal with. Of course, these two will need a good backup like Jeff or Cloak and Dagger to live long enough to pull off something like that, so keep it in mind.
6 Captain America
His Shield Is Not Only For Throwing
- Moves fast and provides buffs
- Shields Hulk from Incoming Sniper Fire
Captain America is really hard to master, but once players get the hang of it, he’s a game-changer. With him on the team, Hulk doesn’t have to worry about any stray arrows coming from Hawkeye or heavy sniper fire from Black Widow. Since Hulk is a huge target, most ranged players prefer to focus on him, and his head hitbox doesn’t benefit him either.
So, make Captain America use his shield for something besides throwing, and protecting Hulk while he keeps the other enemies in check. This duo can take over objectives with absolute freedom if they are supported by a balanced team, so keep them in mind for Convergence and Domination.
