One of the biggest reveals at The Game Awards was the debut trailer for The Witcher 4. As expected, Ciri will be taking the lead in CD Projekt Red‘s next game and even though we’ve already had a glimpse at what to expect, it’s going to be a while before we assume the role of Ciri in a brand new game. However, if you want a taste of how that’s going to feel, a talented modder has taken less than a week to figure out a way.

Just six days removed from our first look at The Witcher 4, someone has made an impressive mod that adds the grown-up mutated version of Ciri to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. A mod so impressive that it has landed on the radar of The Witcher 4 director Sebastian Kalemba who shared a link to Nexus Mods so that those who want to see and download the Witcher 4 Ciri mod can do so themselves.

The Witcher 4 Director Says CD Projekt Red Wasn’t Influenced By The Netflix Series

Nobody will be tossing a coin to Ciri in The Witcher 4.

The talented modder responsible is Forlornsito (thanks, VG247). The mod replaces Ciri’s model in The Witcher 3 with the older version of the character from the new trailer. The mod’s eyes have been lifted directly from the trailer and upscaled, and while the outfit isn’t an exact replica of the one Ciri is wearing in the little we have seen of the new game, it’s close enough that you probably wouldn’t have noticed had I not said anything.

Even The New Game’s Director Is Impressed

Forlornsito notes that there’s some overlapping between Ciri’s hood and chainmail, but other than that, there are no known issues with the mod. It’s available now at Nexus Mods and will change the appearance of Ciri in the few missions where you become her as well as when you’re Geralt and you see and interact with the young Witcher in waiting throughout the game.

If you don’t want the full Witcher 4 Ciri look, you can also use the mod to just alter Witcher 3 Ciri’s hairstyle without any of the other changes.

Unfortunately, the usual crowd has surfaced to be weird about the way Ciri looks in The Witcher 4, right on schedule. More than 1,000 people downloading the mod to add her new design to the old game coupled with the mod getting the series director’s seal of approval further proves that, as always, the ones being weird about this sort of thing are a vocal minority.
