Scream 7 Officially Casts Returning Actor from Scream 6
It has been confirmed that an actor from Scream 6 will be returning for the upcoming Scream 7.
Camp joins the cast that includes Mason Gooding as Chad Meeks-Martin, Campbell as final girl Sidney Prescott, and newer cast members Sam Rechner, The Handmaid’s Tale and Malignant star Mckenna Grace, Asa Germann, and Celeste O’Conner. It’s unclear which characters most of these actors are playing, although it was announced that Isabel May is playing Sidney’s daughter.
So far, Gooding is the only Scream 7 cast member who was part of the Core Four including Jenna Ortega as Tara Carpenter, Melissa Barrera as Sam Carpenter, and Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy Meeks-Martin. Ortega and Barrera aren’t returning for the horror sequel, and it’s unclear if Savoy Brown will appear again. Since Chad didn’t die in Scream 6 but was brutally attacked, Chad and Sidney might be the only two people who understand what it’s like to experience being hunted by Ghostface. This could lead to a new bond between the two characters, which will be interesting to observe. Audiences would love for Savoy Brown to be officially cast so Mindy and Chad can both be in the movie.
After the two big Scream 7 updates about Kevin Williamson directing and Campbell returning, there wasn’t much news about the sequel, which makes the many recent casting announcements thrilling to hear about. Camp is one of the biggest names now attached to the movie and is known for playing Aubrey Posen in the funny and musical Pitch Perfect franchise. Camp has appeared in several sitcoms, including Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and The Mindy Project, along with dramas such as True Blood and The Good Wife. She has also appeared in movies such as The Help.
Although there will likely be several teenage characters in Scream 7 since there are many younger cast members, Camp could be playing a friend of Sidney’s or someone she is acquainted with. Since she is known for her comedic work, she could portray a character who offers some comedic relief to the slasher story. Maybe her character will be like Alison Brie’s funny and ditzy publicist in Scream 4. No matter what character Camp plays, Scream 7 is going to have an excellent cast full of talented stars.
