Netflix Has Lost 2 of Its Best Games

Netflix Has Lost 2 of Its Best Games

Summary

  • Netflix subscribers lost access to GTA 3 and Vice City, but still have GTA San Andreas available.
  • Netflix regularly updates its game library with new additions and removals.

Unfortunately, Netflix subscribers have lost access to two of the streaming service’s best games – Grand Theft Auto 3 and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Some Netflix subscribers may not even realize this, but their subscription gets them more than just countless TV shows and movies to watch. With Netflix, subscribers can also access a variety of video games on their mobile devices.

Netflix’s gaming efforts were once a lot more ambitious, but while the company seems to have dialed things back a bit, it still features many high-profile games on its platform. Just recently, Monument Valley 3 launched on Netflix, and there are a slew of other high-quality games available to subscribers as well.

Netflix updates its gaming library on a regular basis, but it’s not always adding new titles. Just like Netflix movies and TV shows rotate in and out of availability, so too do its game offerings. Earlier this month, Netflix subscribers lost access toGrand Theft Auto 3 and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. GTA 3 is considered one of the best and most influential games of all time, with Vice City also standing tall as one of the industry’s most critically-acclaimed games ever. Sadly, Netflix subscribers can no longer play them with their subscription, but it’s not all bad news.

Which GTA Games Are On Netflix?

  • Only GTA San Andreas is on Netflix at the time of this writing.

While GTA 3 and Vice City have been removed from Netflix, one Grand Theft Auto title remains on the service. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, the third game in the beloved GTA PS2 trilogy, is still available to play at the time of this writing with no removal date announced so far. Many consider Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas the best game in the PS2-era trilogy, so it’s great that it’s still on Netflix for the time being.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is set in the early 90s and features a gigantic open world. It introduced all kinds of brand-new gameplay features and concepts to the franchise, successfully building on what came before and expanding the scope considerably. The Netflix version of the game is based on The Definitive Edition, which was panned on consoles but praised on mobile. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition on mobile is far more polished than its console counterpart, so Netflix subscribers can give it a go with minimal worry.
