Summary
- Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu has a steel Quirk, an undying spirit, and is a true hero in training.
- Itsuka Kendo is a strategic leader with big fists and impressive strength.
- Juzo Honenuki’s softening Quirk is tactical, hindering enemies and enhancing mobility.
The aptly named My Hero Academia follows Deku and his friends, a bunch of teenagers born with superpowers known as Quirks, as they go to their superhero academy, the prestigious U.A High School. While the main focus is on Izuku and his classmates from 1-A, you shouldn’t forget that 1-B is filled with Heroes in training just as great as their counterparts, as seen from the Joint Training and School Festival arcs.

With so many spectacular villains, these ones didn’t get enough of the spotlight.
From copying Quirks to creating psychedelics directly inside your lungs, this band of kids has some Quirks we’re glad aren’t in the hands of villains. Here are the strongest students in class 1-B of Boku no Hero Academia, ranked.
7
Tetsutetsu Tetsutestu
Will Of Steel
Hero Name |
Real Steel |
---|---|
Quirk |
Steel |
Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, or Tetsu x4, is not his Hero name. Instead, it’s his birth name, despite sounding like some foreign onomatopoeia. He’s the rival and best friend of class 1-A’s Kirishima and rocks a Quirk quite similar to him.
Steel lets Tetsutetsu harden up his body and give it the property of steel. This, paired with his ironclad will and undying spirit, makes him one of the toughest opponents any Villain can run into. While he did lose to Kirishima early on in the series, he has grown a lot since, and is an example of a true Hero, even as a student.
6
Itsuka Kendo
Big Hands, Bigger Brain
Hero Name |
Battle Fist |
---|---|
Quirk |
Big Fist |
Itsuka Kendo is class 1-B’s representative. She’s also the brain of the group, being the class’s tactician and strategist. She’s very impressive as a person, being able to go toe-to-toe against 1-A’s Yaoyorozu Momo in a battle of wits.
Her Quirk is a lot on the simpler side of abilities. Big Fist, as the name suggests, lets Kendo enlarge her hands. This gives her superhuman strength and an excellent way to hold multiple enemies together. She makes great use of this otherwise lackluster Quirk, and makes for an even greater leader as she commands class 1-B.
5
Jurota Shishida
Beast With Brains
Hero Name |
Gevauden |
---|---|
Quirk |
Beast |
Fans of the X-Men series might find parallels between Shishida and Beast, with the former’s Quirk being named Beast as well. Jurota Shishida, at first glance, seems like a brawn-over-brains kind of character, someone you’d expect to go on a feral rampage. His theme doesn’t help his cause either, literally looking and acting like a beast.
However, Shishida is one of the smartest tacticians in 1-B, being second only to Kendo. His intellect aside, he has quite a versatile Quirk, gaining enhanced strength, speed, instincts, and sense from it. While often overlooked in favor of his classmates, the Hero, Gevauden, is someone who the Hero Society could benefit greatly from.
4
Ibara Shiozaki
Best Hair In U.A.
Hero Name |
Vines, Maria (Former) |
---|---|
Quirk |
Vines |
Ibara Shiozaki is U.A.’s most graceful student, and a very powerful one as well. Unlike other Heroes that have to go Plus Ultra to showcase their strength, Ibara can simply stand still and hold her hands together in prayer and let her hair do all the work.

Who are the best students in My Hero Academia’s class 1-A?
What lets her do this is her Quirk, Vines, which lets her use her hair as extremely durable ropes. These can be used for defense, for offense, and also for immobilizing enemies or structures. Ibara’s ability is absurdly strong, and it’s a shame the anime didn’t explore it much after the initial screening.
3
Monoma Neito
All For One At Home
Hero Name |
Phantom Thief |
---|---|
Quirk |
Copy |
All for One is arguably the single strongest Quirk in Boku no Hero Academia, letting the user steal away and store whatever Quirk fits their desire. While Monoma’s Copy isn’t as strong as the original, it still lets our favorite arrogantly annoying raccoon have a taste of what it means to be the most devious villain in MHA.
Monoma’s Quirk activates upon physical contact with a target, giving him said target’s Quirk upon doing so. This ability works best in scenarios where Monoma can touch multiple targets to switch between powers, either by tagging enemies or providing support to allies. His personality might not be heroic, but Monoma has proven that his Copy can very easily overtake the originals.
2
Kinoko Komori
Hero Name |
Shemage |
---|---|
Quirk |
Mushroom |
Komori isn’t the greatest Hero, nor do mushrooms seem as scary as many of the other Quirks in the My Hero Academia universe. However, we got to see just how scary this underrated power could be when it overwhelmed students of class 1-A during the Joint Training arc, making them suffocate from the inside.

9 Lingering Questions We Have After The End Of My Hero Academia
My Hero Academia’s manga wrapped things up nicely, but there are still unanswered questions.
Unfortunately, as impressive as the earlier feat was, it isn’t even the height of Komori’s strength. Her Quirk is described as letting her grow any kind of mushroom wherever her spores land. Unless otherwise stated, this gives Komori access to a variety of psychedelics or even instantly poisonous mushrooms, making her Quirk a force to be reckoned with.
1
Juzo Honenuki
Softens Anything He Touches
Hero Name |
Mudman |
---|---|
Quirk |
Softening |
Juzo Honenuki was scouted to be part of the Hero Course, much like Torodoki and Momo from class 1-A. This should already put him well above his peers, but his Quirk and tactical use of said Quirk in the Joint Training arc is what truly makes him shine brighter than even those in 1-A.
Mudman’s Quirk, Softening, lets him turn anything he touches into a semi-fluid of sorts. This works splendidly as a way to hinder enemy movement, trapping them in quicksand, but is also a great way for Juzo to travel safely, swimming through whatever material he has used his Quirk on. We’ve already seen a Pro Hero with a similar quirk to how Juzo’s Softening functions with Cementoss, so there’s no doubt he’d eventually become a very strong part of the Heroes’ arsenal.
