NetEase has sent a notice to players regarding messing around with the files in Marvel Rivals to fix mouse acceleration, warning that doing so may result in unexpected issues in other parts of the game. “At this time, we kindly advise against modifying any game files in Marvel Rivals, as it may lead to unexpected issues,” said a NetEase community manager in a Discord server, which was later shared on Reddit. The lack of an option to toggle mouse acceleration has proven to be quite controversial within the ever-growing Marvel Rivals community, prompting many to search for ways to DIY a fix. YouTube and other social media channels are filled with handy videos that guide players through a simple change in Marvel Rivals‘ config files, but according to NetEase, doing so may result in unintended consequences in other parts of the game.

A toggle for mouse acceleration is a fairly standard feature for modern games, but one that is missing from Marvel Rivals. Players can progress through the ranks in Marvel Rivals‘ competitive mode, which stretches from Bronze to One Above All.

Marvel Rivals is currently still in the middle of its Season 0 update, with Season 1 right around the corner. Season 1 of Marvel Rivals is expected to launch sometime early next year, though an exact date is still unspecified.
