How To Solve The Hidden Fens Puzzle In Monument Valley 3
As mentioned above, The Hidden Fens is level three of Monument Valley 3, which has two parts and three tricky puzzles. Here’s how to solve them:
Part 1: Meet A New Friend
In the first puzzle of The Hidden Fens you need to press all the pastel-blue floor buttons at the same time. The challenge is that once you step off a button, it becomes inactive.
- Start by pulling down the stairs by tapping and holding the three tiny blue circles on it. Then climb the stairs and return them to their normal position.
- Once on the ledge, move the cube with a pastel-orange plant in the middle two times to the right until you see three more tiny circles behind the structure. Stand on it, drag that block above, and move the cube back two times to the left to align the building.
- Simply walk over to the blue floor button on the top.
- A short cutscene will play, showing the structure changing form and a Totem-like yellow movable block, similar to one from Monument Valley 2, appearing on the path. Just shift the entire building two times to the left using the cube.
- Once the path aligns, hop onto the Totem block.
- Now, drag the Totem three times to the right and hop onto the floor button.
- Finally, shift the cube two times to the right and move the Totem to the second floor button.
The second puzzle showcases a stunning giant flower surrounded by pillars standing under the ocean, making a maze-shaped structure. This scenery is beautiful but filled with optical illusions. Your goal here is to place the Totem-like block on the pastel-blue button in the center of the flower.
- Drag the ledge forward with the yellow Totem-like block.
- Move the middle cube fully to the left to create a track, then shift the Totem-like block onto it.
- Swing the cube all the way to the right to line it up with the middle pillar, and move the Totem block onto the right pillar.
- Reverse the cube to the left again, and shift the Totem forward to the center.
- Rotate the cube to the right, take the Totem to the right ledge, then move the cube back to the left and activate the floor button inside the giant flower.
- This will trigger a cutscene where this Totem block transforms into a boat—your new friend who will accompany you into the depths of the ocean in later chapters.
- Jump onto the boat and sail it to the right side of the ocean until you encounter a bridge blocking your way. Simply move the middle part of the bridge, marked by three blue circles, to the left to clear the path.
- Sail forward to a lone structure with a massive door submerged underwater. Stop your boat at the dock and tap on the floor button—this will open the gate.
- Return to the boat and sail it under the gate.

Part 2: Catch The Light
Beyond the gate, you’ll reach the other side of the ocean, where the second part of The Hidden Fens begins. Your aim is to progress through this section and guide the sacred light into the mentor’s staff.
- First, dock the boat near the building where the mentor is standing.
- Step on the ledge next to the wall with three tiny yellow circles. Pull the wall upward to match the ledge, get on it, drag the movable wall down, and press the first button.
- A gear will appear, and the ledge will shorten. Return to the boat, rotate the gear to the right, sail the boat to the other side, climb onto the movable wall and drag it upward.
- Head back to the boat, shift the other gear to the left, sail to its side, get on the ledge, move the gear to the right, climb down the stairs, and step on the second button.
- Climb back up the stairs with the mentor, move to the left side, reverse the gear, and jump back onto the boat.
- Sail to the other structure with two floor buttons and step on both. This will create a staircase leading to the middle of a higher platform. Simply climb up and stand on the geometric sign.
This will play a cutscene where a light beam comes out of the platform. Tap and move the five dots of light on the screen to form a sacred geometric pattern. Then, click on the mystic’s staff to catch the light. This completes level three of Monument Valley 3.
