The card game Magic: The Gathering has been collaborating with popular video game IPs recently, including Assassin’s Creed and Fallout, and seeing an Elden Ring deck in the tabletop’s future would instantly accumulate a lot of interested customers.

FromSoft and Bandai Namco Entertainment released Elden Ring back in 2022, and the Soulslike went on to win Game of the Year. The dark fantasy’s popularity continued when the hefty Shadow of the Erdtree expansion was released in June 2024, and it became the first DLC to be nominated for Game of the Year. Queen Marika, The Eternal, Malenia, Blade of Miquella, and Godfrey, First Elden Lord all made appearances as Legendary Creature cards, alongside the Dark Moon Ring artifact card and the Drake Warrior Igon Creature card. This isn’t the first time the Soulslike has been linked to the card game, as another Elden Ring fan made a similar set of Magic: The Gathering cards last year, although none of them were Legendary.

The creator noted they had spent a year making this Elden Ring-themed deck, and Redditors were highly impressed with the card layout and artwork and also noted how well the game’s lore fit MTG’s aesthetic. Magic: The Gathering was created by Richard Garfield and released in 1993 by Wizards of the Coast, and the game is notorious for its complexities and Dungeons & Dragons motifs. 2025 is going to be a packed year for the tabletop game, as Magic: The Gathering recently confirmed three Magic Multiverse sets and three Universes Beyond sets were arriving next year, alongside new Headliner cards that are expected to be as popular as The One Ring from The Lord of the Rings set.
