Delta Force dev says PvE Raids are hitting the free-to-play FPS very soon

It’s only been around two weeks since Delta Force launched in open beta, and it’s hardly low on content. Whether you love the high-stakes extraction shooter gameplay of Operations, or the more relentless, Battlefield-esque gameplay of Warfare, there’s a lot of competitive multiplayer action to be found in this free-to-play game. However, there are currently no PvE-only experiences for those that don’t want to clash with other players. Well, that’ll soon change, as Delta Force’s game design director Ricky Liao tells me that Raids will be arriving in the near future.

In an interview with PCGamesN, Liao admits (via a translator from Team Jade) that despite there being plenty to do in Delta Force already, “we are aware that players are asking for more content in our game.” While the paid Black Hawk Down campaign is arriving next month, Raids will be the first big new addition for those playing the free PC game. Anyone who jumped into earlier betas and test builds of Delta Force will have likely had a taste of what these new Raids entail, but for many, this will be their first time getting hands-on with a solely PvE game mode.

“In this mode, people will get to experience four distinctive levels, each with different gameplay and different challenges, and it will have a satisfying ending,” Liao says. He also confirms that these Raids will take place on brand new bespoke maps rather than on existing multiplayer maps that have been repurposed.

“These maps and experiences are us taking our hats off to the classic Delta Force campaigns, because you will see they are purely PvE and we are trying to recreate that kind of experience from the good old Delta Force games,” he adds.

Raids will also be somewhere for you to test out and make good use of any of the gear you’ve hoarded from your time playing Operations.

“We want players to feel the tension, but also we want to give players a chance to shoot to their hearts’ content. So for this mode, people can actually bring some of their best gear from Operations and really enjoy all of their hard work, and they don’t have to worry about losing it, because in this mode, it’s PvE only and you won’t lose your gear.”

Liao notes that the mode is already live in the Chinese version of Delta Force, and that it’s been well-received by players. He also says that despite the PvE nature of Raids, players have still been getting competitive with each other. “We have also observed that there are people here who are actually trying to prove their skill and they will only carry in some of the most basic weapons, or maybe only pistols, to really try to try to overcome all the challenges [with added difficulty].”

While Liao doesn’t tell me an exact date for when Raids will be added to Delta Force, he says you can expect to see them some time before the launch of the Black Hawk Down campaign, which currently has a January 2025 release window.
