NetEase Games has announced that they will shutdown the service of their classic 4v1 horror action–survival title, Dead By Daylight Mobile, on March 20, 2025. The game is shutting down due to the ongoing shift in NetEast Games’ development and operational strategies, following Order & Chaos: Guardians, Operation Apocalypse, MARVEL Super War, and more.
Dead By Daylight Mobile is set to shutdown thanks to NetEase Games’ issues
For those who are unaware of this game, if any, Dead By Daylight Mobile is a classic 4v1 horror action title centered around the deadly game of cat and mouse concept. In this game, you can either choose to play as the Killer, hunting Survivors and sacrificing them to the Entity, or as the Survivor, working together with your friends, or go solo to escape and outlast the Killer. The game is a mobile adaptation of the popular PC version by Behaviour Interactive.
Unfortunately, the team announced on X (formerly known as Twitter) that the game is shutting down on March 20, 2025. They shared, “Due to ongoing shifts in NetEase Games’ development and operational strategies, the decision has been made to end service for Dead by Daylight Mobile as of March 20th, 2025.“
For those confused, the game is only shutting down on mobile, as Behaviour Interactive will continue to produce, support, and grow Dead by Daylight on PC and console. “We invite all players to continue their journey in The Entity’s Realm,” the team mentioned.
Fans are disheartened by the announcement, but there is some good news for them
If you haven’t tried the game yet, you still have time as the game will be available on the App Store and Google Play Store until January 16th, 2025, after that, it will be officially removed. However, in-game purchases are no longer available. One good news is that you can still enjoy the game and utilize your existing currency and items until the servers shutdown on March 20, 2025.
For the disheartened fans, there is some good news: you can switch to the PC and console version, and on top of that, you will also get a Welcome Package from the team at Behaviour Interactive, compensating the time, money, and energy you invested in the game.
The package will include a standard gift, which includes x500,000 Bloodpoints and x2,250 Iridescent Shards. Additionally, the devs will also offer Loyalty rewards based on the money spent and XP earned in the mobile version of the game.
And if you are wondering about refunds, NetEase Games will process them according to the relevant laws of each region and the specific refund process will be announced on January 16, 2025. For more details, go through the official announcement on their official website.
