NetEase Games has announced that Dead by Daylight Mobile will soon leave app stores, followed by a complete shutdown in the coming months. The game is currently still available on iOS and Google Play, but will leave both in early 2025. NetEase Games adds that any DBD Mobile players can opt-in for a welcome package on PC and console, which rewards you with Bloodpoints, Auric Cells, and Iridescent Shards in relation to money spent and level reached.
First released in 2020, Dead by Daylight Mobile is a free-to-play version of Behaviour Interactive’s asymmetrical horror game. An improved global version was then relaunched in collaboration with NetEase Games, which is the game that is now being delisted and shutdown.
“Dear People of The Fog. The team at NetEase Games is deeply saddened to announce that Dead by Daylight Mobile will officially be leaving app stores on Thursday January 16, 2025, and ceasing operations entirely as of Thursday March 20,” NetEase Games writes.
“While this has been an extremely difficult decision, we remain eternally grateful for the time you’ve chosen to spend with us in The Fog. Please note that our partners at Behaviour continue to produce, support, and grow Dead by Daylight on PC and console.
“For those looking to continue their journey in The Entity’s Realm, a Welcome Package awaits you in Dead by Daylight complete with loyalty rewards based on your money spent and XP earned in Dead by Daylight Mobile.”
NetEase Games also makes it clear that as of the shutdown in March 2025, you will not be able to play Dead by Daylight Mobile in any capacity. If you’ve been playing this version of the game a lot, however, the welcome package is a way to thank you for all your time in DBD Mobile, with different tiers of rewards.
Starting on Wednesday December 18, you just need to log into DBD Mobile and follow the welcome package link in the game, where you’ll choose the platform you play on. Every player who switches over to PC or console will receive 500,000 Bloodpoints and 2,250 Iridescent Shards at minimum, with more rewards depending on your total spending in DBD mobile. If you spent the minimum, between $0.01 and $4.99, you’ll get 150 Auric Cells and 1,800 Iridescent Shards. You’ll get the maximum reward for spending $200 or more, which amounts to 5,000 Auric Cells and 108,000 Iridescent Shards.
You also get extra Bloodpoints depending on your DBD Mobile level. If you’re around level two to 15 you get 500,000 Bloodpoints, while the maximum reward for being level 40 or above is two million Bloodpoints.
NetEase Games adds that if you take these loyalty rewards now and keep playing DBD Mobile ahead of the shutdown, any additional progress you make can’t be carried over into more rewards.
Dead by Daylight Mobile is leaving the iOS and Google Play stores on Thursday January 16, with the full shutdown to follow on Thursday March 20. You can read the full NetEase Games statement here.
